Guest swansee
Y O Y Did he change his number, really bugs me. that being said i havent seen much of him, as i never know whow # 14 is on the ice. If you followed the Bulldogs you'd know he has always been #14 (Bonk got in the way!) In fact I believe he has been #14 almost his entire hockey career. Some day they will retire #14 (and it won't be for Claude Provost!)

Guest JL
Plekanec is simply showing that we don't need another center. We must concentrate on a left winger instead.

Guest d80jcrant
Awesome game in Halifax against the Bruins Plekanec. I sure hope he can keep it up in the season, stay healthy and be consistent. I think he will no doubt better his last years totals.
fourtrax
Plekanec is proving, one game at a time, that we don't need a second-line centre. Turtleneck power!
hockey_gal89
Plekanec is proving, one game at a time, that we don't need a second-line centre. Turtleneck power! I agree. He kind of reminds me of a bulkier Steve Sullivan with a bit more "sandpaper" to him. He could be a 60+ point man this year-IMO.
Guest caperns
I like this kid a lot. He plays both ends of the rink and has great speed. Built for the new game. Carbo type player. I expect great things from him and higgens this year.
Guest jennifer_rocket
Taking into account only his game in Halifax... He's on pace for... *crunching the numbers* 246 goals! Oh. My. God. Superstar! Now we just need to make sure all 82 games are played in the maritimes.

fourtrax
Confidence is everything. At the beginning of last season, there is no way Plekanec would have pulled off that sweet, behind-the-goal-line feed to Latendresse. Not that he didn't have the skill then, but he would likely have opted for a safer play. The staff showed confidence in him, kept him as the second-line centre, and he has exceeded all expectations. And this is before he's had a chance to develop real chemistry with a stable pair of linemates.
Guest Talon
If the kid breaks 50 points I will consider it a great season for him. I remember watching Higgins and Plekanec play in Hamilton during the lockout and I always thought Plekanec had more offensive upside than Higgins but in their first seasons it seemed as though Higgins had jumped a head in that area...perhaps Plekanec is proving my initial observations to be correct. tommyv
Remember, Pleks will always clean up his area defensively before taking chances offensively, he is supposed to be a 2 way player, the fact he is showing this much offensive potential is simply a bonus, he has all the tools to turn into a Gomez type player, 60 point scoring 2 way player, a very rare type of player. That is still years away, however, if Pleks can be a consistent 50+ guy while keeping his defensive abilities the same, we have ourselves a very valuable player to this team.
