Patate
if he keeps playing on the second line he'll be booed out of town. He plays very well as a third/fourth line defensive specialist, but just isn't ready for an offensive role. Why's that, cause he didnt produce with Kovalev and Samsonov ? like everybody else yeah... Guest stevesaku
all he needs to do is believe in his skills and try not to rush things.let the game come to him
tmash
Why's that, cause he didnt produce with Kovalev and Samsonov ? like everybody else yeah... Thats a good point, but it wasn't just the not producing, he just didn't look that comfortable out there. But I'll give you that its possible he'll produce given different linemates
Guest Captain Koivu#11
QUOTE(((( > Jeff < )))) This guy played amazing tonight and he did it on the 4th line with murry and begin. he showed a lot of intensity and hustle with great play in all zones. he was the workhorse for his line tonight, he played like this in the playoffs last season. what a great game tonight, awesome team effort, GO HABS GO!!! This is why I say that it is very important to roll 4 lines as equally as possible, because we have good players on all 4 lines that have the ability o be a threat. I agree that Pleks has been playing well this season, and when the Habs are playing badly, often I notice that Plekanec is the best player on the ice. He plays hard and gives it his all shift in-shift out because he wants to succeed. I am pleased by what I see from him.
Guest Captain Koivu#11
poor guy. The jack-of-all-trades gets thrown from line to line . lol I like that term for Pleks, Jack-of-all-trades. It suits him well. Too bad his name isn't Jack. flames4eva
Isn't this something... a guy (Pleks) making one tenth (450K) of what Kovalev makes (4.5 million) has to be the saviour of line two? Go figure... its only temporary I know, but this was tried before Higgins went down if I remember right. Kosty didn't try hard enough to stay up according to Carbo so Pleks (who was helping make the 4th line a worthy contribution to the team... playing with Begin on the wing) gets another go... maybe Carbo just proved his point that Pleks was not the problem to begin with. jigger-1
Heard him on the radio this morning and essentially what he said was "I have to stop trying to feed the puck to Sammy and Kovy at all costs. If there is a play that I think would be better if I drive the net I will. I was intimidated playing with those two at the begining of the year because my confidence wasn't there. Not I know my confidence is back. Kovy is always very tightly checked by the other team so I need to know when to hold on to the puck"

Kovalev surely don't ask to be intimidate or always have the puck. Kovalev says that Plekanec should keep the puck more and him and Samsonov will have more space to be a nice target. Guest 4beforeorr
Hard work pay's dividends eventually. Here's hoping for, continued confidence and less intimidation with his return to the 2nd line. I just love his energy. I'm so praying that it work's this time, and itching for this game to get under way.

Even though Kovalev was the only one who scored, I thought Samsonov and Pleks were also very good... The line looks MUCH better then it's first stint together. Guest 4beforeorr
He sure didn't look shy to take some shot's of his own. And good ones too.He looked very good again. His winger's played better also. Atta boy Plek's!
Guest detritus
Plek sure is coming into his own this season. He day in, day out he is working hard and it's incredible to see a rookie working his tail off to get into the top lines! He may not have the numbers to show for it yet, but his defensive play has been overall solid. The best part though.. is that ontop of solid defensive play, he seems to have break out speed! i have seen atleast 3 short handed breakaways by him this year, he just needs to find the back of the net on them and he could well be looking at 10-15 goals this year. Carbo must be thinking he's looking at a younger version of himself out there
Guest newton
Confidence is the key. Pleks is very humble and still has to learn when to be selfish and when to pass the puck. But I hope this time it works out. He certainly has the potential to be the 2nd center we're desperately looking for.

scotrbrtsn
Huge game nonetheless, great plays all night, finally looks to be gaining confidence with his linemates. He's still a little nervous on the shots though. Keep an eye on this line over the next few games, I have a feeling they're about to light it up. Naw, he showed what he can do loast year in the playoffs, just a little overwhelmed by his linemates I think, but he looks very confident in the last two games. Other than blowing the shots as you mentioned.

Other than blowing the shots as you mentioned. Oh absolutely. He's also surprisingly quick. Anyway he's on the right track. Those chances should turn into goals anytime now. Kovy is playing amazing hockey with him right now as well so they'll eventually find the back of the net I'm sure.
Guest NY-Habs-Fan
Pleks is getting a lot of good chances since he has been moved back up to the second line, but he needs to start putting the puck in the net. everytime there is a breakout play with the second line, pleks always gets the puck in alone and i haven't seen him put the puck in the net yet. Its true. He has the breakaway speed but no finish. If he can find a way to score the guy would get 30 goals per year.

franck5890
I'm not sure why, but it seems like Plekanec has a tough time staying on his feet. There were a few times where he fell untouched, like he couldn't control his speed or something tonight. I'm not sure if it's just a bad edge on his skates, but there were a few times where he could have had a great chance if he was able to stay upright.
