Guest Thibodosa
This kid has been one of our most tenacious and energetic players all season; he's created a few great turnovers that led to goals this year, he's skating hard, back-checking, and digging in the corners. He's come close to finishing a few times. I hope he starts getting a little more ice-time in reward for his work. i agree he has been awsome out there, he gives 110% every shift he has, from what ive seen and he wants a chance to be on top 2 lines,,, i think he deserves it.. he makes somthing outta nothing when he has a chance
Guest Captain Koivu#11
Perezhogin, I thought, played good tonight again.
roy_133
He has been good but we need him to start scoring, 1 point in 8 games isn't going to do it, we need him to start finishing his chances and providing us with some much needed secondary scoring imo. franck5890
In all fairness, is he expected to light it up only receiving 10 minutes on a line playing a semi-defensive role? 2 points in nine games now I believe. But yes, putting the puck in the net would help his case.

What I mean he's getting a lot of chances, and while that's good this team really needs him to start finishing them, he's got the hands to do it. Dice-R-Loaded
Still think we should give the all Russian line a chance- Kovy Perez and Sammy. Just give it a couple of games... . I know that you meant that as a joke, but some would see this as racism and take it quite seriously. JL.

Dice-R-Loaded
To bad Perez isn't a center. But, Kovy is!!! Besides, the first think Pleks said was, these guys don't need me as a center because they're playmakers in and of themselves. Russians are taught to play as a unit; interchangeable parts. Just think, we can put markov on the point- and we can call it the "Stoli" line. Come on, Fan27, it's worth a shot. Might revivify Kovy- Kovy's getting out of shape, and it's too soon in his career to coast. Give him more ice, let him get back into accelerating and carrying the puck with more open ice. Just an experiment. A couple of games. Against second division teams. How can it hurt?
crognalsen
I've seen Kovy at center many times and I have to say he sucks at center. Thats why he always ends up back on right wing. He has enough trouble in his own end getting the puck out along the boards. If he has to go in deep to help out the defenseman we are doomed. Perez is a good amount faster and I believe would be a lot more succesful as a center or at least better then Kovy.
tmash
he looks amazing (see him fly tonight?), but he's turning into another Bulis, can't finish his chances.
Dice-R-Loaded
I've seen Kovy at center many times and I have to say he sucks at center. Kovalev was a center turned into a RW. In his 2nd year, he played center on the Rangers Stanley Cup Team, 21 pts in 23 playoff games. Great defensively..You probably saw him with the Pens trying to center for Jagr- he didn't want to center for jagr. But candidly,- if it was to happen- Guy would have to ask Kovalev if that's what he would want to do. Kovalev never really liked to play center- and if he doesn't want to do something- he does it half-heartedly. I think that would be the key. If Kovalev says yes, I would give it a try. If he's not to keen on the idea, then forget it- you're right, he will play terribly.

He played a little center with Steve Larmer, but not much and he never played it for prolonged periods of time in New York or Pittsburgh because he isn't good at coming back deep in his zone and picking up the third forward. He just isn't very good in his own end. Yeah he can make good outlet passes sometimes, but if he is relied on to pick up the third forward coming back I just don't see it happening. He was also much younger in New York and was faster then he is now. Everytime he fights for the puck along the boards these days he seems to be stationary and falls down. I'd rather see a high energy young player play center. Someone who will skate hard both ways.
Guest Lafleurs Guy
he looks amazing (see him fly tonight?), but he's turning into another Bulis, can't finish his chances. Yep, He's hit about 81 goalposts this season. Give him a chance, he'll come around.
fourtrax
He's got better hands than Bulis, he's just hitting goalposts. Carbonneau shouldn't lose confidence in him because he's working hard and getting chances.

Guest Lafleurs Guy
People have been talking about splitting up the 2nd line... I say if you're going to do that, put Perez on it instead of Sammy. At least Perez shoots (even if he is hitting goalposts most of the time.) Guest sportsfreak_39
I've been loving Perez. He's a very dynamic player who can change the pace of a game, he lacks natural scoring ability which will suffice any all-star hopes people may have but I love this kid and hope hes a Hab for many years. Guest Tony Montana
This is is a speedy talented and yes strong player. Each time hes on the ice hes the 1st man in the opponents zone putting pressure, he is never scared to ask for a pass i always see him flying up the ice looking for tht pass. No d scares him. The goals will come in Perz dont worry keep on shotting and doing what you are doing. Deffently 1 of the bright spots this year on the team. Guest theflower
I just wanna give a shout out to Prez he has been in a word outstanding this year. Not to mention and I can't believe I am saying this but Bonk has been a real gem this year. He still makes the odd dumb back pass to the point without thinking, but overall what a bonus to have this guy playing well. Prez just makes me smile watching him skate and watching his work ethic. Really great to see!! The goals will come for him, eventually I am certain. This brings me to an interesting question though, as good as he is and the fact that he has been thrown on the 2nd line so much lately, makes me wonder if we ever really needed to sign Sammy at all. Especially with Kosty and Grabs ready to play at the NHL level. hmmmm..........

Playing with Bonk and Johnson, he's getting chances and it's only a matter of time before the pucks start to go in the net.
