Why move him from the third line? Playing with Bonk and Johnson, he's getting chances and it's only a matter of time before the pucks start to go in the net.

yeh im not cutting him up. i just meant if sammy has to be moved. why not move him to third line casuei think perezogin derseves the 2nd more than gui at this time

He's a victim of circumstance right now. He deserves to play oin the 2nd or 3rd but circumstances dictate otherwise. But hey we could be ina worse sityation than saying one of our top propsets has come into his own and become a good NHL player but can't get ice time because of all the good wingers we have. It could be worse.

i find it truely unfair that they promoted Lats over Perez, i mean would this have happened if Latendresse was actually named Smith? the fans have taken this kid and turned him into something he is not, the savior, right now i see a good 4th liner at best from latendresse, there should have been no reason why perez, who is playing some excellent hockey out there gets the cold shoulder even though he is out there hustling and battling, digging and creating all sorts of havoc for the other teams.

as much as Bonk's improvment and johnsons contributions have been important to our 3rd line, perez has been equally important to that line, he's hit a few posts, and created chances for himself on many individual efforts by pulling some kovalevs on the opposing defence, he is a better player this year than he was last year, and i hate the way he is being tossed around the lineup like a useless object..

I wholeheartedly agree Link... this is another one of those hard to understand strategies that the Habs seem to get from their coaching staffs... similar to not playing Kovalev on the first line with Koivu and Higgins/or Ryder... but as I aluded to before in another post... the goal is to fast-track Latendresse to be the power forward they hope he will be (but I didn't expect it this early... and I don't think he is ready either). Some management teams work with merit based on performance... others have a plan and will die trying to make it work disregarding who the best performers are and what each player needs to be doing to use his strengths for the best possible results... however, it is in the end a team game and the coach runs the team. If it fails he is responsible even if the players didn't want to cooperate... it's a fine line it seems.

He looks good everygame, he needs to replace samsonov, and sammy take his spot.  Perezhogin is so quick with it, I could see it going somewheres with Kovalev and Plekanec

definatly,

him and plecks had a natural chemistry to begin with, and kovy is the dangler on that line!

keep at it perez, the fans love you and dont you forget that;)

i've got so much respect for this kid, he has never complained once about anything that the coaching staff has dealt him, i hope he breaks out and go crazysick on us, he deserves it.

It's about damn time he gets some quality chances. He gets to play with Kovalev and Samsonov a bit and what does he do? He scores on his only clear cut oppurtunity(Unless I missed something in the first)

Exactly, ask anyone who knows him and he's too shy, give him a chance with talented players and pressure situations, that's how he will develop.

I like him, but he's wasted talent on the 3rd line, that's one thing I hate about our organization, we always incorporate youth talent, but we never try to promote it, instead we put decent players on the top 2 lines and just get by, rather than push an extra player like other cities have been able to do, like Zetterburg in Detroit.

Amazing goal, the way he is playing out there reminds me of someone in Buffalo by the name of Afinogenov.

There is one thing i notice changed dramatically with perez over the last season, he is extremely tenacious with the puck, hard to get it stripped of, and he battles in the corners like a grinder.

he is like a grinder with great finesse talent, he truely completed that second line tonight, according to RDS, Kovalev told carbo to give the kid a chance on the fly during the second intermission, dont know where the info came from but good call by Kovy, this kid is ready to explode, this might be the perfect situation for him to do so.

That goal you guys saw from him tonight was how he played last season when he was sent down to Hamilton for the brief period of time. It's just amazing how hard he works every shift and I'm glad to see it paying off for him now.

He makes at least one incredible play every night. Its just that he keeps hitting crossbars and posts... I like what I see with him. The goals will come.

I'd like to see Kovalev center the 2nd line (if he'd be willing) between Sammy and Perez. Pleks and Gui can develop on the 3rd line.

I like you, do you like me?

:D

All kidding aside, I'm glad to see him finally get a chance, presuming he'll stay on that line for a bit. I've said it elsewhere but I seriously thought it was Kovalev coming across the blueline with the puck, until I realized how blazingly quick the skater was.

A great game by Perezhogin, and if he keeps his efforts up while playing on that second line, he'll do great. He just has to play his game and not get down if Kovalev is frustrated.

I can't beleive that at training camp and in pre-season, some were thinking that he should get cut to make room for Latendresse (including some media)...

WORD. And he's been playing well with Bonk and Johnson, creating chances and hitting goalposts, so I'm very happy to see him catch fire with his fellow Russian speakers. (I believe Perezhogin is actually from Kazakhstan, is he not?).
