Guest Miltie01
Useless plug. The guy could hardly stay on his skates while dumping the puck..he was painful to watch. He gave 100 per cent of what he had. Even if it wasn't much, it was more than can be said of a few too many guys on this team !!!! I wish him the best, and am very happy for him . Effort is great, even better when it results in something positive on the ice. He seemed like a nice guy and I wouldn't wish failure on anyone...but he was useless. Wayne-1
he held the cup i saw it on tv so he was waived maybe durring the year but finished the year with a stanley cup ring, nice real niceDowney was placed on waivers, but he wasn't 'released'/bought out in October... he only played for Detroit this year so I think he was placed on waivers -- and cleared without being claimed -- so he could be sent down during the season... he played enough games with Detroit to get his name engraved on the Cup even though he didn't play in the playoffs... mortwinkler
Though it'd be nicer to see the Habs capture the cup again, when it's not us I'm always gald it's to a former Habs player (unless I hate them, like Ribs), but in Downey's case, I've always liked that guy. Congrats to him.
