guyguyguy
Half of Souray's goals happen because Markov puts the puck exactly where it needs to be: in his wheelhouse so he can blast the one-timer with accuracy and without having to shift position. That's just one of the small but vitally important things Markov does for the team. Never mind the great skating, the exceptional passing, and the generally outstanding positional play. Now all that's missing is the goals. Only 2 goals this season?:?
Guest vegasrick
Now all that's missing is the goals.Only 2 goals this season?:? Yep, I would agree, except he has three goals. Still, it should be more. And yet I appreciate that we are doing pretty well so far this season, all other things considered. But Markov, and some others, should be scoring more. I've seen lots of chances go bad because we don't hit the net, or our passing is off. If we made those chances count, we would be putting away more opponents and putting them away more decisively. Markov is so defensive-minded, that his offensive chances are not as plentiful as they could be. But I think they will start to increase as the team chemistry starts to gel better. At least Andrei is usually not the dismantled defenseman in the other team's highlight goal. Defensemen like Scott Stevens would have been just as valuable even if they scored zero goals. But Markov is SO much more skilled.......he really should be lighting it up more. Then again, 22 assists is nothing to sneeze at. I'll keep him. I dont like to count empty net goals and especially not ones where you just try to clear the zone and in goes in like it happened to Markov vs Ottawa this season. fourtrax
I honestly don't care how many goals Markov scores. That's not his job. He may not score goals, but he has 22 assists, which shows me that he's a playmaking D-man.
bigjcc526
we already have our goalscoring d-man.markov is an awesome playmaker who should get alot of credit for our pp success and sourays goalscoring
Guest Miltie01
Andrei has slipped back to the second page again !!! We seriously don't talk enough about this guy !!! Any team would KILL to get him. We are so lucky to have him. Sheldon is right, we must secure Andre first...and at all costs.

He's SO underrated. He's great in the 3 zones, when he's on the ice he control the play. Ovechkin has said several times Markov and Chara are the best D he played. I mean lets cheer for Markov. CaptainCouragous21
Can I go out on a limb and predict he makes the all-star team along with Shelly, Cambell, Kaberle, Boyle, and Chara

Around here if people don't have anything bad to say, they don't say anything at all... lol, seriously though Andrei doesn't get enough credit, I don't know why, maybe because he doesn't pile up the goals like Souray? Maybe because he's so quiet, you rarely see him interviewed or anything thing like that... I don't know what it is, but I hope we lock this guy up before he hits the market, because the bidding might get crazy.
Guest Miltie01
For sure others will want to take him away from us. Get your wallet ready Bob. I think we might have a good chance with the Russian content on our team. Watch out for Washington, they might get him to go along with his friend OV. That friendship might hurt our chances a bit. Guest habs_fan1160
Anyone know what's up with Markov lately? Is he playing through an injury? I noticed the last few games he's had some pretty dangerous giveaways and his passing is really weak. I'm just not used to seeing this out of him and was wondering if he was working through something on/off the ice.
Guest cheerio279
we really don't talk about him much, but he deserves a ton of recognition for his work at both ends of the ice.. his +6 leads all habs defencemen and he got 2 more assists tonite, keep on rolling Andrei!! habs-24
he was a turnover machine tonight, no look passes......weak passes. got to be alot better in that aspect
cristowall-39
he was a turnover machine tonight, no look passes......weak passes. got to be alot better in that aspect 2 assists tonight though! 3rd most assists for dmen in the whole LEAGUE! After Neids and Pronger. 27 assists in 42 games man... Did you see the perfect pass he made to Kovalev for his goal? Let's cut him a little slack. Guest habs_fan1160
Great pass but a lot of turnovers. He hasn't looked as confidence as he normally does - I think that was my only concern with him.

Guest CanadianMike
So here's the million dollar question. At the end of the season if it came down to Markov/Souray who would you rather have? BOTH....if I have to pick Markov. I now have faith that Souray will stay too, so it's all good. We can lose Rivet if we have to lose one of the 3 Dmen.

fourtrax
I'd pick Markov. Souray's great, but Markov is a more complete player. Hopefully we can re-sign them both!
