roy_133
I believe Ovechkin and his comment on Markov. He wouldn't make things up. I agree, and Ovechkin's comments were nice to hear... But what really tells the story to me, even more then his great stats, the big time, key minutes this guy logs for us... Was our record without him last season, it wasn't a fluke folks, this guy is such an important part of this team, like I said, when you really look at it, he may very well be our best player. Guest Lafleurs Guy
With all due respect to Huet, Koivu & Higgins... Markov is the MVP of this team. If he goes down the team gets smoked. Yes, he must be re-signed.
Guest NothingGreater
I can't believe all the doubt that people started spewing, making excuses why such a thing would happen, then saying that they only played once or twice max!!!! Honestly, how do you people get this information, because I would love to know. Markov is too random of a defencmen for Ovechkin to compliment, look at the other defencemen he mentioned! really underrated (imo). wow...I can't believe how angry I got over that.. Guest HabSteve
http://www.cyberpresse.ca/article/20061202...5128/CPSPORTS01Markov article yeah, that is a great article, I loved the komi comments about how markov never talked to him the first year they played together even though they were always near and how markov must be a funny guy. I'm happy he said he loved montreal, he is a quiet guy that does a great job on the ice and doesnt get the recognition he deserves, we need to lock him up for 3 or 4 years! Guest ChriS_HigGinS#1
Taken from Wikipedia about Andrei Markov: Very little is known about Andrei's personal life. A recent article revealed that he has a 4-year old son in Russia named Daniel, and that most of his family also lives in Russia, but little more. Even after 6 years in North America, he has yet to adapt to the culture and still struggles with the language barrier, often relying on vetern teammate Alexei Kovalev to translate for him. Due to his reclusive nature, it is widly speculated that Andrei is, in fact, a vampire of some sort (Concievably some form of cross-bread capable of being exposed to sunlight), or, alternativly, a wolf man. Most people consider the ladder suggestion to be crazy-talk and flying in the face of reason, but it still surfaces from time-to-time in TSN broadcaster Pierre McGuire's tirades about the Montreal Canadiens. While there is some debate to the exact nature of his manifestations, there is no doubt that he is a supernatural creature of some sort, and his immense power is second to only Radek Bonk's on the Canadiens roster. tommyv
As Demers said, Most Underated D-Man in the league, Demers sas he's seen the Lidstrom's play, and Markov makes just as many good plays per game but doesn't get half the credit he deserves. Aside from Huet, Markov is definetly next on the list of most valuable players to this team.
Guest SuperHabsFan
like every game, he played great again. He is such a good passer. Almost all the good plays that are created starts from him. He is definately the most useful player in our team.

Markov's missing those passes on the pp from last year though.. Remember the ones from the blueline on the left side right to the right wing? Usually on Kovalev's stick. I miss seeing that!! Guest Tony Montana
Andreiiiiii GEt beeeter omg we neeeeed u plz. U better be playing tomro, u guys see how we are without markov he sets up all the breakout pases for this team. Always brings up the rush and creates chances. I think Markov is a very key peice to our puzzel as a franchaize and Gainey better lock him up with a 4 year contract. Our team has trouble creating offence without him. amp73
Our team has trouble creating offence without him. They have trouble creating offence WITH him in the lineup and it's even worse when he's out of the lineup . Drink plenty of fluids and get your rest

Guest 4beforeorr
I'd obviously prefer him in the lineup over Ninnima ( no offence), but Janne has been fairly solid for the last couple games, and unless Markov is feeling 100% for the game, let him sit. If Janne is looking like a liability out there, bench him for the 3rd, and split his icetime between Bouillon/Dandy. That being said, Let's hope for a HEALTHY MARKOV vs. Buffalo!!!!!!!!
