Guest Hoser
With a short-handed goal and a pair of assists, Maxwell now leads the WHL by 3 points, in 3 less games them second-place Zach Boychuk. Sweet christmas, he's been doing incredible! Price has been dominant so far, he's 5-1 with a .925SV%, and Ryan White has been a point-a-game player too. Our WHL boys are looking very sharp thus far. habscout_mtl
I believe that Trent Mcleary is the WHL scout for the Habs. He used to have that role, but the Habs official website no longer lists their scouts. Can anyone confirm if Mcleary still works for the Habs? Guest jsol
33 points in 21 games so far. I've been checking the WHL site daily, Ben Maxwell and Ryan White (Hitman) are doing very well. Carey Price is doing well considering his team. My question is: Why is Cameron Cepek scratched from every game that Portland plays? Is he hurt? Guest shanahan1024
Ben Maxwell continues to play really well in Kootenay, it earned him a spot on the WHL vs Russia series roster, and hes now been invited to the Team Canada World Junior Tryouts. Theres only 5 or 6 returning forwards lets hope he puts in a good effort and can land on the team, and show Canada the Habs got the steal of the draft. Carey Price was also one of 4 goalies selected. His biggest competition is Jonathan Bernier and Leland Erving, both taken in Round 1 last year.

Guest BadBrains
i mean the world junior team....or is that your analysis for that team???? lol. I didn't read the post above properly. The Habs team, no way. But I'm sure you already knew that. As for the junior, I'd love to see him make it. He's still 18 and Team Canada like to go with 19 year olds unless someone really stands out. So if we don't see him this year, I'd put my money on next year.
Guest shanahan1024
Ryan White and Maxwell next year I bet. They both played against the Russians, White is more of a hard nosed player but still has amazing stats this year, and Maxwell is more skilled. beckham_mtl
Seems that Ben's injury is fairly serious. It is an aggravation of an old injury for which he underwent arthoscopic surgery last spring, I beleive, causing him to miss the WJC summer camp. He has travelled to Vancouver to consult a specialist to determine whether further surgery is necessary. That could keep him out for the balance of the year if it comes to pass. Good luck, Ben, and a speedy recovery.
beckham_mtl
FWIW - Ben won the overall skating competition at last year's CHL Prospect event. They haven't released all the details of this year's event yet, but his time in the lap (14.68 seconds) would have won this year, and Mathieu Carle's time (14.89 seconds) would have been a close second this year. That was Ben's worst event as well.
