CD's ??

I still have 200 + albums but no turntable to play them on

lol it was a joke

I own exactly one record (well 2, but its the same one). I've listened to some of my Dad's, but he repurchased most of the good ones on CDs (he's owned the Boston debut on record, 8 track, and CD; well and now mp3 I guess), so I just listen to those.

I still have my LP's and the turntable!:D No more 8-tracks, though....

I haven't bought a CD since I was 12. I've been collecting records since I turned 13 when my dad gave me a turntable for my birthday.

I think hatethoseleafs probably has me beat when it comes to being a Hab fan... I only became a Habs fan around the same time you did although I've been around for longer than you I assume... (please don't ask me who I rooted for before then... I might get chased off the board!)bw6
I'm guessing a certain franchise owner ( and his criminal activity) , had a lot to do with your switch of allegiance.
Were his initials H.B.? My fave player as a kid had the initials J.B. and I turned 54 in July 2006.

29 years old and coming over this year for my very first live Habs game (Leafs & Bruins games in March). Started following Habs 92-93 season when I saw my first NHL game on tv when they beat Blackhawks 6-2 and Brisbois even scored 2. Not a bad season to start, watched all of the playoff games and if only every year could be like that, not a bad way to start though.

59...60 in April 2007...I thought there werent too many seeds in this forum but i actually might be the oldest....been a habs fan since i could walk my father made sure of that..so thats over 50 years ...remember montreal winning cups in the 50's....favourite players over the years were the Rocket,,Floyd Curry [recently deceased]Ralf Backstrom, but loved all the teams in every era [hard not love your team]...this is part of the reason I'm pretty opinionated on this Forum ....my view on Hockey is that if a player is good you love to watch him no matter what team he plays for...if your team is'nt that good in any particular year...well it just isnt....I see hope for the Habs but it's getting tougher to be dominant...oh yes and i really dislike players like Tucker because even though he has some talent I think over-all the tantrums are bad for the game in general

Hey, youngster. If you started following the Habs for the 92/3 season, they were over here for a pre-season game. Beat the Blackhawks at Wembley Arena (with East 17 as one of the acts between 1st and 2nd periods - now that takes us back awhile, eh?). It was weird for me to see Chelios playing for the Hawks as I left Mtl when he was still a Hab. Other players of note: St Patrick in goal and Carbo - so not just the prospects and rookies.

I'm 49 and remember lots of Cup victories by the Habs, especially the five in a row in the seventies because I was living in Toronto at the time and the Leafs fans were beside themselves with envy.

I think I am the oldest woman on the forum...

I am about the same age as the Leafs' last Cup!:D

I could almost be Michael Ryder's mom!!!!:D

But the cool thing is that I saw a lot of great Habs hockey, and sat in the old Forum, and watched my team bring home the cup many, many times.

My oldest son is exactly the same age as the Habs' last Cup...and he is a true fan and kick-butt goalie.

Hey brianw6....no offense taken....i'm living in London, ont but was born and raised in Peterborough.....My Father who is still alive and kicking at 86[and a die-hard montreal fan i might add]knows Gainey's father well...as you might know Peterborough was a farm club of the habs way back in the 50's....that was their main junior club in Ontario and the Montreal Junior canadiens took care of Quebec[and quite well I might add]...if you're from Pembrooke obviously it's not hard to see why you're a Habs fan....Im guessing we've seen a few cups between us .I think Im around 14 Cups witnessed....You?

No... I'm Montreal born and raised although my wife and I travel to Ontario quite alot... we love the Ottawa valley and lived in Ontario for about seven years... I was actually asking because of your moniker a= area, (of) r= residence, pem= Pembroke, _can= Canada... we go up Pembroke way at least once a year because we love the Ottawa River.
