AK-1
I'm hoping if Emelin somehow gets over here, with his pro experience, it won't take too long, looks like Habs found a way sign Yemelin, who is still under contract in Russia. The Canadiens thought they would have to wait a bit longer to sign Yemelin because he had two years remaining on a contract with Lada Togliatti in the Russian Elite League, but the team has reportedly found a way around that detail. http://www.canada.com/montrealgazette/news...21d&k=78623

Guest 1970 Habs
EMELIN CLOSE TO SIGNING?! CJAD SPORTS HAS LEARNED Alexei Emelin is close to agreeing to a multi-year deal with the Canadiens, and making the jump to the NHL. Emelin and the Canadiens have reached a financial agreement, according to agent Todd Diamond. All that remains is for Emelin to agree to the commitment to come to North America. SOURCE: http://www.cjad.com/node/340260 This is good news however it is not official yet. If Emelin does come over is there a chance he will be in uniform? I hope so because if he can move the puck like Markov he would fit nicely on the second defenceman pairing. I sure hope Gainey does not look at Yashin though. 'high five!....alright' *returns high five* great news. And to answer someone elses question about Emelin, I believe Emelin is older than valentenko and plays a much rougher game so i believe if any, Emelin would get the call before vals. Comon guys now we need to start thinking up nicknames! My votes in for Vals , or Tanko lol.
jonutoxt
Alright, two sources reporting Emelin coming over. Now we just have to wait on official word. I'm trembling with glee. Now we need a good draft in a week.

Like play with the fact that Vlentenko sounds like Valentine. Pavel 'Lonely' Valentenko 'No' Valentenko Pavel 'The Lovebird" Valentenko Pavel "Jack Valentine" Valentenko Plus, I've always wanted a hockey player to mimic "Shoeless" Joe Jackson, so how about: "Skateless" Pavel Valentenko actually i think it works better like: "Skateless" Chris Higgins
