Id love to see Kosti wearing the number 15 for the Habs this coming season. That would mean that our current number 15 is gone...

lol, I didn't even think of that. That's actually a bright spot to this rainy day (plus I'm sick) :)

I see this guy being better than his brother and would not be surprised if he is in a Habs uniform in 2 years.

I'd actually guess sooner. If he has the defensive skill people are raving about then I'd guess he'll be called up this year (like Andrei) and he might be an everyday 2nd liner by February.

You guys should go checkout that youtube video of him drilling steve downey. May not have been an entirely clean hit but a hit nonetheless, and i didn't think steve downey was a small guy. Finally a young prospect that is showing some talent AND grit early on.

Is it too soon to put him in the line up?? I would love to see a good center between the two. Let them have their own line just like the Sedins. That would be awesome.

Not a chance! Somebody(s) on the Kane-Gagner-Kostitsyn line is not as good as his stats. Time will tell but after seeing Sergie up close and personal several times this year (I live in London) I have mixed feelings. Grit is not in this kids vocabulary. His brother on the other hand has a harder shot and has come to understand the price that must be paid to score. They are both smart and intuitive players. I like Andrei's total skill package better. I'm not saying that Sergei won't develop but I'd be very surprised if he oudid his brother.

On another note, does anyone know why the Kostitsyn brother's changed the spelling of their last name (used to Kotsitsyn)?

Almost definately to be easier for the north american crowd to pronounce.

Yes he does have grit, I went to game two of the Knights/GreyHounds series and he almost took the head off one guy with a very wicked body check and then Cody Thornton (Joes second cousin) came to the guys defence, and he and Kostitsyn had thrown a few punches and Kostitsyn handled himself quite well

Oh man I was watching some Youtube clips. He is always and I mean always in the shooting lanes. Wow. He's always open, and some of the hits he gives are just bone crushing. I dont know, he looks very promising, might even outshine his brother.

I chuckled when I read that Sergei's stats this year were padded by Kane and Gagner. How many assists did he have this year (80+). With those assists you would have thought he played centre.

As for grit this guy has played in North America for two years at the junior level. The coach in London was comfortable playing him in all situations during the year (sometimes leaving him on for double shifts).

Enough said.

He is farther ahead development wise than his brother was at the same age. I really think he has the potential to outshine his older brother. It will be interesting watching him in Hamilton this year. In my mind he is only a year from the NHL.

Only time will tell.

Maybe he'll merit a "call-up" this year. Perhaps we'll get to see him play alongside his brother - O.T., 4 on 4, Kostitsyn and Kostitsyn, pass, pass, pass, deke, deke, pass, pass, GOAL!

This kid thinks he will make the big club this year. Quite frankly, I think he may deserve a shot too. Him and his brother are not much different in terms of skill level, and Sergei has had lots of time to develop and get used to the NA style of play with the London Knights. I think a fourth line of A.Kostitsyn - M.Grabovski - S.Kostitsyn would be awesome. Energy, speed, and scoring! This could be our kid line, just like Anaheim had Penner-Perry-Getzlaf.
