6 points is just absolutely insane.  Some people might say that Kane and Gagner are making Sergei look good, but it could be Sergei making them look good.  Schremp certainly isn't looking as great as everyone thought he was in the OHL.

Well for those who say it's Kane and Gagner are making him look good should look at his stats. Awesome numbers last season. especially in the playoffs. The only reason Belarus had a team at this years WJHC was the result of Kostitsyn took the team on his back last year during religation. And at the WJHC he had 5 pts in 6 games. not bad!

The benefits of having Sergei is also this.

Next year, Andrei Kostitsyn will make the Habs. I'm pretty confidnet about this, if Grabovski doesn't, then Sergei will move in the AHL and also help Grabovski with the language barrier further and to further comfort him into his N.A. adaptations.

I was at the knights game last knight and I have to say the only reason they won was because of kostitsyn. I honestly think the only reason kane and gagner have all those points is because of kostitsyn. man can this guy pass he puts the puck right on their sticks. Another thing i noticed about kostitsyn is he is a very phsyical guy and boy did he ever nail some guy last night. I can't wait til he cracks the habs lineup you guys are going to be impressed.

Andrei Kostitsyn has to make the Habs cause he'll never clear waivers. Siarhei Kostitsyn will be in Hamilton next year for sure. Grabovski I think he will be back in Hamilton, he doesn't have to clear waivers so he can work on his game and get some games with the Habs, unless he plays that good at camp.

Unless we get a legitimate #2 centre (or Pleks keeps playing this way...) Grabovski will be with the club next year. Our wing is really deep, but our centres are not. As for Andrei Kostitsyn, I hate to say it, but I dont know if he has a future with the Habs. Sergei does though.

I think the Perezhogin vs Kostitsyn battle will resurface next pre-season.

That's if Perezhogin is still here. I really like Perezhogin, he has speed and works hard along the boards. I would rather have him than Samsonov on my team. I say Perezhogin, Kostitsyn and Grabovski make the team next year:

Perezhogin - Grabovski - Kostitsyn

fastest fourth line in the league!!!

The streak continues! Sergei has a goal and an assist already in tonight's game, giving him 80 points on the year in only 43 games. Way to go Sergei!

Where are you picking this up?

so when does chipchura get his shot?

At best hes a 3rd line player, both Kostitsyns and Grabovski are top 2 line players. As for Andrei him and his brother have huge futures as a hab in the same lineup together. Sergei keep tearing up the OHL 2 and 2 tonight wow hes playing good.

Just keeping tabs on the box-score on www.ontariohockeyleague.com.

Another 4-point game from Kostitsyn tonight - 2 goals, 2 assists, including the OT winner as the Kinights come back! Great job Sergei!!!!!

Out of sight man...out of sight, i keep track on a different site tho

2005-2006 63 Games 26 Goals 52 Assists 78 Points

2006-2007 42 Games 25 Goals 57 Assists 82 Points

Wonder how high kostitsyn would go in the draft now had he not been drafted by the canadiens 2 years ago, does he surpass his brother Andreis 10th overall pick or not?

Your point?

already your analysis' of all our prospects was sub par, and whenever you have a chance to take a shot at one of our prospects instead of encouraging them, you take it

So far, i dont think anyone takes what you say into consideration because of your negativness, so i would keep quiet if i were you.

The OHL is pretty whacky this year, I don't know how much Kostitsyn's points are worth. There are a handful of players 2 and 3 years younger than him scoring at the same pace or better.

Kostitsyn is scoring at a hair under 2 pts a game (1.95 ppg) There aren't many players scoring over 2 pts a game, John Tavares at 16 is just over, but he's also a likely 1st overall pick in '09 and a possible future superstar. There's also his teammates Kane and Gagner, who are around 2.25 ppg, although the trio often plays together on the PP since they run 5 forwards on their PP.

There's Stamkos who's scoring at a 1.65 ppg, the 16 year old is also a likely very high pick in '08.

Other guys like Downie, Little, Ryder, Bobby Hughes, Evan Brophey are all around the age of Kostitsyn and all under Kostitsyn's ppg I beleive, not doing all the math. Little is right there with a 1.87 ppg.

The whole thing to me though is that some get too caught up in stats, points only tell a part of the story. Watching how they play is important to see how they are reacting to situations, how they are improving their weaknesses over time etc, how consistent is their effort, level of competition, etc....

On other boards if I recall you weren't a big fan of A. Kostitsyn so I'm not surprised it continues. Perhaps neither will be able to find success at the nhl level, personally I didn't think it would take Andrei so long to adapt, I'm concerned he won't fit in Carbo's system since he got more of a shot last year and yet he's been better this year, especially since being sent down. Siarhei being 19 still or 20 next month, we'll see what he can do in Hamilton next year. Frankly I look forward to it, I want to see how he handles the bigger stronger players. At least he speaks more English, works harder and seems to have a much better understanding of using his teammates then his older brother does.

I'm trying to be realistic. It's easy to get carried away about prospects when you're a fan of a particular team. If we could go back and see the stuff that was written about a lot of players who didn't amount to much over the years, you would understand my perspective. I always thought that Sergei Kostitsyn was a great pick where he was taken, as a matter of fact I was the first to say he could be as good or better than his brother. Andrei was not worthy of the 10th overall pick in 2003, especially in retrospect, and Sergei was much better than the 200th overall pick in 2005. They both should probably have gone somewhere in the second round of their respective drafts. Win some, you lose some. But, as I said above, if Sergei was playing in the WHL, he wouldn't be scoring any more points than Maxwell or White, even though he is a year older. Gagner and Stampos are over 2 years younger, and Tavares is 3 1/2 years younger than Sergei.

Troy Brouwer won the WHL scoring title last year with around 100 points I believe. Kostitsyn's former teammates, Rob Schremp and Dave Bolland scored well over that in the OHL. In the AHL this year, Brouwer is scoring at nearly the same pace, and is among the league leaders. Schremp and Bolland have done little to speak of.
