I'm gonna trade this life for fortune and fame I'd even cut my hair and change my name [CHORUS] 'Cause we all just wanna be big rockstars Live in hilltop houses driving fifteen cars The girls come easy and the drugs come cheap We'll all stay skinny cause we just won't eat And we'll hang out in the coolest bars In the VIP with the movie stars Every good gold digger's Gonna wind up there Every Playboy bunny with her bleach blond hair and well.. Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar I wanna be great like Elvis without the tassels Hire eight body guards that love to beat up assholes Sign a couple autographs So I can eat my meals for free (I have a quesadilla, ha ha) I'm gonna dress my ***** with the latest fashion Get a front door key to the Playboy mansion Gonna date a centerfold that loves to blow my money for me (So how ya gonna do it?) I'm gonna trade this life For fortune and fame I'd even cut my hair And change my name 'Cause we all just wanna be big rockstars Live in hilltop houses driving fifteen cars The girls come easy and the drugs come cheap We'll all stay skinny cause we just won't eat And we'll hang out in the coolest bars In the VIP with the movie stars Every good gold digger's Gonna wind up there Every Playboy bunny with her bleach blond hair And we'll hide out in the private rooms With the latest dictionary in today's who's who We'll get you anything with that evil smile Everybody's got a drug dealer on speed dial well.. Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar I'm gonna sing those songs that offend the censors Gonna pop my pills from a pez dispenser Get washed-up singers writing all my songs Lip sync 'em every night so I don't get 'em wrong Well we all just wanna be big rockstars Live in hilltop houses driving fifteen cars The girls come easy and the drugs come cheap We'll all stay skinny cause we just won't eat And we'll hang out in the coolest bars In the VIP with the movie stars Every good gold digger's Gonna wind up there Every Playboy bunny with her bleach blond hair And we'll hide out in the private rooms With the latest dictionary in today's who's who We'll get you anything with that evil smile Everybody's got a drug dealer on speed dial well.. Guest Le Gros Bill
If you are a sailor like me - you have to agree this is the most perfect lyric ever written: "haul the sheet in as we ride on the winds that our fore-fathers harnessed before us. tmash
Fates Warning - Guardian (lyrics by John Arch) These walls are stained engraved with pain You will find them under shadows casting shame Some it's all they'll ever know, Angels of the fortunate sons come and go ... You may not Entities pass in the night Guardians and the Reaper fight the will to live shall win Mares of hope ride through their dreams blinding light awakens sleeping dawn it seems It was all a dream endless dream I will wish upon a star I believe in you And if my will has strayed afar I rememebered you Will you remember me I the one you sentenced Pennance unabsolved Answer me save my will have you forgotten me Pace the hallway blindman for a million miles of stars His mind has seen. think you may he lives in darkness We're the dark he's seen the light of dream Karen's been asleep forever I know she hears me She has so much to say, Machine shoots sparks through face Unto my hand, unto my heart I'm a fire without a flame helpless child without a name With broken wings catch me I'm falling I'm a question with no answer who are you that takes my life away from me unveil the bondaries of the black I had a dream I was you strong as the fire In your veins then when I called out your Name I would remain and witness the pain I am beyond silent black I will be back As your guardian Angels in white you have sacrificed witness and bury the pain Walk hand and hand with the fear stricken child Strengthen the weak and the lame pillar of pennance and lore Perpetual journey into the realm the sovereign servitor Rush - The Pass (lyrics by Neil Peart) Proud swagger out of the schoolyard Waiting for the worlds applause Rebel without a conscience Martyr without a cause Static on your frequency Electrical storm in your veins Raging at unreachable glory Straining at invisible chains And now youre trembling on a rocky ledge Staring down into a heartless sea Cant face life on a razors edge Nothings what you thought it would be All of us get lost in the darkness Dreamers learn to steer by the stars All of us do time in the gutter Dreamers turn to look at the cars Turn around and turn around and turn around Turn around and walk the razors edge Dont turn your back And slam the door on me Its not as if this barricade Blocks the only road Its not as if youre all alone In wanting to explode Someone set a bad example Made surrender seem all right The act of a noble warrior Who lost the will to fight And now youre trembling on a rocky ledge Staring down into a heartless sea Done with life on a razors edge Nothings what you thought it would be No hero in your tragedy No daring in your escape No salutes for your surrender Nothing noble in your fate *****, what have you done? And for a funny one, Deep Purple - Knocking At Your Back Door Sweet Lucy was a dancer But none of us would chance her Because she was a Samurai She made electric shadows Beyond our fingertips And none of us could reach that high She came on like a teaser I had to touch and please her Enjoy a little paradise The log was in my pocket When Lucy met the Rockett And she never knew the reason why I can't deny it With that smile on her face It's not the kill It's the thrill of the chase Feel it coming It's knocking at the door You know it's no good running It's not against the law The point of no return And now you know the score And now you're learning What's knockin' at your back door Sweet Nancy was so fancy To get into her pantry Had to be the aristocracy The members that she toyed with At her city club Were something in diplomacy So we put her on the hit list Of a common cunning linguist A master of many tongues And now she eases gently From her Austin to her Bentley Suddenly she feels so young
Guest Alex-Habsfan23
Soundgarden - Mailman Hello, don't you know me? I'm the dirt beneath your feet. The most important fool you forgot to see. I've seen how you give it, now I want you to receive. I'm sure that you would do the same for me. [Chorus] Cause I know I'm headed for the bottom I know I'm headed for the bottom I know I'm headed for the bottom. But I'm riding you all the way Yeah I'm riding you all the way I'm riding! Yeah For all of your kisses turned to spit in my face For all that reminds me which is my place For all of the times when you made me disappear This time I'm sure you will know that I am here. [Chorus] Cause I know I'm headed for the bottom I know I'm headed for the bottom I know I'm headed for the bottom. But I'm riding you all the way Yeah I'm riding you all the way Riding you all the way Riding you all the way Riding! Riding! All the way.... My place was beneath you, but now I am above And now I send you a message of love A simple reminder of what you won't see A future so holy without me [Chorus] Cause I know I'm headed for the bottom I know I'm headed for the bottom I know I'm headed for the.... But I'm riding you all the way Yeah I'm riding you all the way I'm riding you all the way! Oh I'm riding you! Yes I'm riding you! Oh I'm riding you! Yes I'm riding you! Oh I'm riding you.. Guest Hoser
We are the Beaver by the Arrogant Worms The US is the eagle, Russia is the bear, Australia is the kangaroo, cause they're kind of weird down there. Yeah, India is the tiger, that stands so proud and tall, But Canada is the greatest of them all. We are the beaver, we're furry and we're free Yeah, we are the beaver, we got two big front teeth Yeah, we are the beaver, we can chew right through small trees We are the beaver, we are the beaver, we are the beaver. You might think a rodent is a pretty lame choice For a national animal, but don't you listen to that voice. No, cause all them birds and preditors, just take from the land But the beaver, always gives a dam. We are the beaver, we got cute little webbed feet Yeah, we are the beaver, it's bark we like to eat Yeah, we are the beaver, a nickel we complete. Yeah, we are the beaver, we are the beaver, we are the beaver. The eagle flies the sky above and swoops down on its prey The big bear will maul anyone who dares gets in its way The tiger is the greatest of the hunters today. But the beaver it can build dams. Yeah, The beaver it can build dams, dams, dams. We are the beaver, we slap our tails when danger's nearby We are the beaver, we got waterproof hides Yeah, we are the beaver, we got big bums and beady eyes. We are the beaver, we are the beaver, we are the beaver. We are the beaver, our name is often used as a double entedre We are the beaver, cause in Canada, both French and English belong Yeah, we are the beaver, and the subject of this song is We are the beaver, we are the beaver, we are the beaver. Guest Zay27
Both mine are from Linkin Park No More Sorrow Are you lost, In your lies? Do you tell yourself, I don't realize? Your crusade's a disguise Replace freedom with fear, You trade money for lives. I'm aware of what you've done. No, no more sorrow. I've paid for your mistakes. Your time is borrowed. Your time has come to be replaced. I see pain, I see need. I see liars and thieves, Abuse power with greed. I had hope, I believed. But I'm beginning to think that I've been deceived. You will pay for what you've done. No, no more sorrow. I've paid for your mistakes. Your time is borrowed. Your time has come to be replaced. Thieves and hypocrites. Thieves and hypocrites. Thieves and hypocrites. No, no more sorrow. I've paid for your mistakes. Your time is borrowed. Your time has come to be replaced. No more sorrow. I've paid for your mistakes. Your time is borrowed. Your time has come to be replaced. Your time has come to be replaced. Your time has come to be erased. What I've Done In this farewell, There’s no blood, There’s no alibi. 'Cause I’ve drawn regret, From the truth, Of a thousand lies. So let mercy come, And wash away… What I’ve Done. I’ll face myself, To cross out what I’ve become. Erase myself, And let go of what I've done. Put to rest, What you thought of me. While I clean this slate, With the hands, Of uncertainty. So let mercy come, And wash away… What I’ve Done. I’ll face myself, To cross out what I’ve become. Erase myself, And let go of what I've done. For What I’ve Done I start again, And whatever pain may come. Today this ends, I’m forgiving what I’ve done. I’ll face myself, To cross out what I’ve become. Erase myself, And let go of what I’ve done. What I’ve done. Forgiving What I’ve Done. Guest Keetla
Definitely love Atmosphere, Abusing the Rib. The first time I heard it I was really surprised.. never expected so much metaphoring in a song like that. Atmosphere - Abusing The Rib Lyrics i wanna follow the footprints across my lovers stomach i wanna call out her name before i plummet i wish i had a map of the terrain so i could step around the landmines avoid the beasts under the bed that breathe at bad times i wanna find these here so-called treasures the pleasures the trinkets the never-ending weekends acknowledging that i'm still just a piece of the sequence but seein these different footprints got me needin to show my WEAKNESS TIMELINES, timezones i cross em with my eyes closed memorize the landmarks and learn the cycles the weather patterns how the seasons affect the east and the west of each region learn the cycles forget about the fact that many trails have been tracked maybe it's a plus that there's a path if this was some uncharted land i'd have to be a smarter man willing to travel the farthest to unravel the harvest and natural resources are unlimited exploration only required some desire and INITIATIVE take your time to find the right way to climb it ain't safe to play games with natures mind if i could show you you would never leave it i wanna ride a train up my lovers arm stop off at the brain to hop out and find out whats goin on cut through trees and ride through rocks synchronize the universal sundial to my watch i've seen a lot but not quite as much as her to top it off the memory and the imagination blur but i know she's been put through hell i can feel it and i know she's touched heaven as well tryin to steal it it came on and it taught her a song IT strung her along and it caught her when her guard was gone now to the break of dawn she's tryin to fill what fits and all her family and friends is tryin to seal them lips but i ain't dumb i can HEAR that train come from miles away settin obstacles to stop the arrival i'm gonna blow up that iron and wood road from what i understood those be the ORIFICE of its survival my recital another tantrum because she's highly excitable swinging a random no happy endings always off to a bad start addictive VOYEURISTIC to the trackmarts and if i could show you you would never leave it And the other song I like a lot is Plus Rien from les Cowboys Fringants...

Guest Hoser
Hit Somebody (The Hockey Song) by Warren Zevon He was born in Big Beaver by the borderline He started playing hockey by the time he was nine His dad took the hose and froze the back yard And Little Buddy dreamed he was Rocket Richard He grew up big and he grew up tough He saw himself scoring for the Wings or Canucks But he wasn't that good with a puck Buddy's real talent was beating people up His heart wasn't in it but the crowd ate it up Through pee-wee's and juniors, midgets and mites He must have racked up more than three hundred fights A scout from the flames came down from Saskatoon Said, "There's always room on our team for a goon Son, we've always got room for a goon" There were Swedes to the left of him Russians to the right A Czech at the blue line looking for a fight Brains over brawn--that might work for you But what's a Canadian farm boy to do? What else can a farm boy from Canada do? But what's a Canadian farm boy to do? What else can a farm boy from Canada do? Hit somebody! was what the crowd roared When Buddy the goon came over the boards "Coach," he'd say, "I wanna score goals" The coach said, "Buddy, remember your role, The fast guys get paid, they shoot, and they score Protect them, Buddy, that's what you're here for Protection is what you're here for Protection--it's the stars who score Protection--go and kick somebody's ***** Protection--don't put the biscuit in the basket just Hit some, Buddy! it rang in his ears Blood on the ice ran down through the years The king of the goons with a box for a throne A thousand stitches and broken bones He never lost a fight on his icy patrol But deep inside, Buddy only dreamed of a goal He just wanted one damn goal There were Swedes at the blue line Finns at the red A Russian with a stick heading straight for his head Brains over Brawn--that might work for you But what's a Canadian farm boy to do? What else can a farm boy from Canada do? But what's a Canadian farm boy to do? What else can a farm boy from Canada do? In his final season, on his final night Buddy and a Finn goon were pegged for a fight Thirty seconds left, the puck took a roll And suddenly Buddy had a shot on goal The goalie committed, Buddy picked his spot Twenty years of waiting went into that shot The fans jumped up, the Finn jumped too And cold-cocked Buddy on his followthrough The big man crumbled but he felt all right 'Cause the last thing he saw was the flashing red light He saw that heavenly light There were Swedes to the left of him Russians to the right A Czech at the blue line looking for a fight Take care of your teeth--that might work for you But what's a Canadian farm boy to do? What else can a farm boy from Canada do? But what's a Canadian farm boy to do? What else can a farm boy from Canada do? My favourite song ever written on the subject of hockey. That last verse always brings tear to my eye...

It's not our choice, we cannot voice If they won't hear, the issue's clear A more modern plan to run this land
Guest MTL_Fan_53
The lyrics that are currently stuck in my head: Iced Earth - Ten Thousand Strong Chorus: Await the days of clouding Earth Mother's sharing in our pain Erase the human memory They know not of where they came Although our hearts are broken We have to wipe the tears away In vain they did not suffer Ten thousand strong will seize the day And my favourit eline of all time: Metallica - Master Of Puppets Pain monoply, ritual misery Chop your breakfast on a mirror
Larry-Launstein-Jr
Here is my all-time favorite song by anyone, from the legendary Chicago V album: Saturday In The Park - Robert Lamm Saturday in the park I think it was the Fourth of July Saturday in the park I think it was the Fourth of July People dancing, people laughing A man selling ice cream Singing Italian songs ? (the Italian song line - no lyrics - just trying to sound Italian) Can you dig it (yes, I can) And I've been waiting such a long time For Saturday Saturday in the park You'd think it was the Fourth of July Saturday in the park You'd think it was the Fourth of July People talking, really smiling A man playing guitar Singing for us all Will you help him change the world Can you dig it (yes, I can) And I've been waiting such a long time For today Slow motion riders fly the colours of the day A bronze man still can tell stories his own way listen children all is not lost all is not lost Funny days in the park Every day's the Fourth of July Funny days in the park Every day's the Fourth of July People reaching, people touching A real celebration Waiting for us all If we want it, really want it Can you dig it (yes, I can) And I've been waiting such a long time For the day Here's another Chicago gem: 25 Or 6 to 4 (4:50) - R. Lamm Waiting for the break of day Searching for something to say Flashing lights against the sky Giving up I close my eyes Sitting cross-legged on the floor 25 or 6 to 4 Staring blindly into space Getting up to splash my face Wanting just to stay awake Wondering how much I can take Should I try to do some more 25 or 6 to 4 Feeling like I ought to sleep Spinning room is sinking deep Searching for something to say Waiting for the break of day 25 or 6 to 4 25 or 6 to 4 And, here's a couple of gems from the late, great Dusty Springfield: Son Of A Preacher Man. (John Hurley / Ronnie Wilkins) Billy-Ray was a preacher's son And when his daddy would visit he'd come along When they gathered round and started talkin' That's when Billy would take me walkin' A-through the back yard we'd go walkin' Then he'd look into my eyes Lord knows to my surprise The only one who could ever reach me Was the son of a preacher man The only boy who could ever teach me Was the son of a preacher man Yes he was, he was, mmm, yes he was Being good isn't always easy No matter how hard I try When he started sweet-talkin' to me He'd come and tell me everything is all right He'd kiss and tell me everything is all right Can I get away again tonight? The only one who could ever reach me Was the son of a preacher man The only boy who could ever teach me Was the son of a preacher man Yes he was, he was, Lord knows he was How well I remember The look that was in his eyes Stealin' kisses from me on the sly Takin' time to make time Tellin' me that he's all mine Learnin' from each other's knowing Lookin' to see how much we've grown And the only one who could ever reach me Was the son of a preacher man The only boy who could ever teach me Was the son of a preacher man Yes he was, he was, oh, yes he was He was the sweet-talking son of a preacher man I guessed he was the son of a preacher man Sweet-lovin' son of a preacher man Ahh, move me The Look Of Love. (Burt Bacharach / Hal David) The look of love Is in your eyes The look your heart can't disguise The look of love Is saying so much more Than just words could ever say And what my heart has heard Well it takes my breath away I can hardly wait to hold you Feel my arms around you How long I have waited Waited just to love you Now that I have found you You've got the look of love It's on your face A look that time can't erase Be mine tonight Let this be just the start Of so many nights like this Let's take a lover's vow And then seal it with a kiss I can hardly wait to hold you Feel my arms around you How long I have waited Waited just to love you Now that I have found you Don't ever go I can hardly wait to hold you Feel my arms around you How long I have waited Waited just to love you Now that I have found you Don't ever go Don't ever go I love you so And here's a real gem made just before the end of her life, and is very appropriate for her illness at the time - and is one of her last hits: Where Is A Woman To Go? (Jerry Gillespie / K. T. Oslin) Do, da, do, da, do, da, do, da, day Ahh, do, da, do, da, do, da, do, da, day Maybe he was wrong, maybe I wasn't right Whatever the reason I'm on my own tonight He's gone his way and I've gone mine Well I bet you hear that story all the time Well, sometimes your friends ain't always available To pick you up when you're feelin' down, down, down, oh My daddy would die if he knew his baby Was seekin' refuge in a little ol' bar across town So tell me where is a woman to go? When she's feelin' low and all she wants to do Is feel a little better Tell me where is a woman to go? When she's feelin' low and all she wants to do Is feel a little better Hey, bartender, honey gimme change for a ten-dollar bill Bring it back as a stack of quarters, if you will 'Cause I'm gonna play every song on your jukebox that makes me cry Gonna find out how many tears ten dollars can buy, oh Gonna find out how many tears ten dollars can buy Tell me where is a woman to go? When she's feelin' low and all she wants to do Is feel a little better Tell me where is a woman to go? When she's feelin' low and all she wants to do Is feel a little better Tell me where is a woman to go? When she's feelin' low and all she wants to do Is feel a little better Tell me where is a woman to go? When she's feelin' low and all she wants to do Is feel a little better Do, da, do, da, do, da, do, da, day Do, da, do, da, do, da, do, da, day I said Do, da, do, da, do, da, do, da, day
