Guest Pats Player
Just explaining to you what my teammates told me.
hockey_gal89
This is a really small world. Believe it or not Max's final season at Taft was last year, and I completed my first this year. Had he decided to complete his studies, he would have been a senior on our team, I was a sophmore. He played and I play under Dan Murphy and I had the opportunity to briefly speak with him when he came back on graduation day to watch his class step up to the podium and be handed their diplomas. He seems like a great kid and from what some of my teammates explained, he always showed up in the BIG games. I'm looking forward to seeing how he progresses in the near future. I think this was a great pick for the team and I can assure you, this guy will prosper. I like the sounds of that...I see him as possibly being what John LeClair was in his prime. But you never know until he laces the skates and puts on the jersey. Best of luck Max and welcome to the orginzation
hockey_gal89
For those of you who are unhappy with this pick, I ask that you please read this article: http://www.canadiens.com/eng/news/redirect...newsItemID=5983 I'm also going to highlight one particular passage below for you to pay particular attention to: “I’ve been sometimes compared to Keith Tkachuk,” revealed Pacioretty. “I like to play physical and I give it all I’ve got whenever I’m sent out on the ice. My goal is be a fan favorite so I can fire up the crowd and bring that energy to my teammates.” THIS is why this kid was taken 22nd overall. He earned it. Guest Newfie's Rock
As metioned by Mojocrookedfoot, the kid's been compaired to Keith Tkachuk and Eirk Cole, two great gritty player who are true leader and put up respectable numbers. Max is 6-foot-2, 203-pounds thats a big kid, who is going to be a tough customer to deal with in the years to come. He still got some time to develop and get stronger. How can you not be happy with this pick. He will be a great power foreward. Welcome to Hockey Town Max.
Guest HalifaxHab
I've seen vidoes of this kid and he reminds me of a very young Todd Bertuzzi (I grew up in Sudbury playing against this guy). He seems like he needs to work on his shift to shift effort but overall he has all the tools to really stomp on the competition. Can you imagine a line with him, Lats and (wishful thinking) Marleau, that's a line with size, speed and skill.
Guest MTL_RULES
I'm glad we're taking quality characters, and not just the most talented people(Esposito, Cherepanov). To me, it seems like its character that we lack more than anything in our dresing room, guys like Corey Perry. Guys that play huge, give it their all every shift, I am quite happy with the players chosen this draft year, and can't wait to see how they all turn out in 2-5 years! Wow that summs it all up right there, guys who wear their hearts on their sleevs and will go all the way for their tea m mates. Be it make a big hit or take one to make the big play. There are tons of players with skill in the NHL but how many of them would go in the corner plaster someone to the boards and then get smoked just to make a play for goal, not many. From what i'v heard this is that type of player, the kind that sets the crowd off and gives that energy to his team mates, making them better as well. This kid will not dissapoint!! Guest MTL_RULES
Man, I would LOVE to have Perry on this team. So, if we can gets guys like Perry, that's awesome! Did you see him chirping Chris Neil in the playoffs? Man I've always loved to watch the kid, but after bullying him and getting under Neil's skin, and even Emery's man that was awesome. Then when he scored that last goal in game 5, that put the final nail in the coffin, I thought it was quite fitting. The two had been battling it out the whole series, both very intense competitors, and for Perry to score right at the end, after he knew he was already going to win the cup, man that was awesome. Boy did Perry get the last laugh!

Seriously, he would skate down the ice turn directly towards Emery, shoot and then drive into his pads with his skates. Brilliant!

Guest Habsfan_11
Max Pacioretty That's a link to a Western College Hockey Blog that tells a bit about Max. He sounds like a hard worker with some talent.
habs4life2
I dont see him playing much here, and if u see he has 60 gp 60pts and in the NHL its much harder to score so i think his rookie season with Montreal will look like 80gp 10g 35a 45pts.But i hope he plays for montreal 3-5 years then we trade him off. I personally think this kid will play for an american hockey team, but we rafted him so that was a good move tho.

The guy is 18 or something and you have is career planned out. Sit tight and relax, the guy might turn out to be a really good pick

Sit tight and relax, the guy might turn out to be a really good pick or bad, you never know. That's why it's hard on the draft. If all the players who get high pick would end up in the nhl, then we would have too many players. But hope it's look good. I am pretty sure he will not be a flop, he will play for us one day. The question is HOW he is going to play, a TOP player or a normal or low player. We have to wait few years for this.
hockey_gal89
I truly believe this kid is going to turn out to be the steal of the 1st round. He's got the size and the attitude Gainey and Timmins seek in all their draft picks. I also believe he has a very undervalued skill set.

hockey_gal89
Can we say... power forward in the making? I think so...I think that was the desired goal in drafting him. We're going to be one big, intimidating team in a few years that's for sure. By the way, anyone who's technology inclined who could make me a PK Subban/ Max Pacioretty sig banner, it would be greatly appreciated. PM me if interested...thanks.
