leafs_rock_go_mccabe
Are we expecting Mr. Fortier to remain in the QMJHL this season, or is it possible he is promoted to the ECHL/AHL? I am unsure of the age rules in Junior hockey. Is he even eligible for another year in the Q?
utreder
I didn't hear any good things about him from the people who were at the developement camp.
leafs_rock_go_mccabe
I didn't hear any good things about him from the people who were at the developement camp. So I guess it's back to the Q if he's still eligible? Timmins seemed to be fond of him based on some comments posted earlier in the thread, but those may have been from last year. He compared him to Lapierre. Perhaps he still needs some major developing before being ready for Hamilton.
BadBrains
He's got another year of Junior eligibility left. It will be his fifth season. Beauregard played in the Q as a 20 year old, also during his fifth season. He'll be considered "overage" and I believe there is a limit to the number of such players per roster. Anyone know how many overage players are allowed per team?
Johnny_rudeboy
The limit is 3 players per team in all the junior leagues.

Flunky
Captain of Rimouski, host team for 2009 Memorial Cup. Last year's winner of the Guy Carbonneau Trophy for best def. forward in the Q. Off to a point-a-game start this year. By next spring, everyone will know this kid's name. Johnny_rudeboy
Fortier is out for approximately 8 weeks with a sprained knee. It happened 31 October.
Flunky
Oh thank you, bearer of bad news. Hopefully, he'll heal quickly and be ready to go for the stretch run and playoffs. Luckily for Fortier and the 'mouskis, they've already got an invite to the big dance. Get well soon lad!

Johnny_rudeboy
Olivier Fortier made his return to the Oceanic line-up last night. Welcome back Olly! Flunky
Fortier recorded a goal and an assist in a 6-2 win over the R-N Huskies, giving him 18 points in 19 games so far this season. Way to go Olly!
Flunky
It's now 20 points in 20 games, as Fortier potted a pair of goals in a 5-4 squeaker over the B-C Drakkar. Not bad for a defensive forward.
Flunky
Two more helpers for Fortier last night in a 9-2 drubbing of Lewiston, giving him six points in his last three games, and 22 points overall in 21 games so far this season. It appears he's showing no ill effects from his earlier injury, and looks like he's rounding into form just in time for the post season run. Olly Ole Olly Ole! Flunky
Another assist for Olly in a 4-2 win over the QC Remparts, giving him 28 points in 24 games. The only somewhat disturbing stat is that he is only an "even" in his plus-minus rating.
Flunky
Four more points for Fortier over the weekend, giving him 16 points in his last 8 games, and 31 points overall in 26 games so far this season. Olly's on fire!
Flunky
Another two point night for Olly, as he recorded a goal and an assist in a 6-3 victory over Montreal, giving him 18 points in his last 9 games.

utreder
Did anyone see him at developement camp or training camp? He won the Carbonneau trophy so he must be smart defensively. What is his skill set like?
maximus123
Did anyone see him at developement camp or training camp? He won the Carbonneau trophy so he must be smart defensively. What is his skill set like? I didnt see him this year, from what I remember last year he was indeed a smart player, great on faceoff (he was the go to guy) that was playing on a bad team, sadly for him he wasnt on a team with great players last year so he didnt light it up, Rimouski was known for its injured players, it was the same this year but they sold the house to get marquee players at the trade deadline as they want to make a push for the memorial cup which they are hosting this year, they will be a team to watch, they have been a powerhouse in the last month
Flunky
I believe Rimouski finished the season in 6th place overall in the Q and will face Chicoutimi in the preliminary round. The Drummondville Volts are the team to beat.
