franck5890
Instead of having a thread for each radio and TV station broadcasting our games, please discuss in this thread. As mentioned, the player through CJAD (a Montreal-based radio station) works quite well, with a small delay. www.cjad.com/player/player Also, an alternative source is NHL.com's radio feed www.nhl.com/radio/index.html (select the team from the list of teams playing that night) Both run off of Windows Media Player plugins unfortunately, but there should be a way that they can be run on a Macintosh. EDIT: Actually, Microsoft does offer a free download of Windows Media 9 for Macintosh users: http://www.microsoft.com/mac/otherproducts...id=windowsmedia Hope this helps

Guest TORHABSFAN
Ok I have scene TSN,NBC,CBCand VS. schedules and I don't understand one thing... Why is nobody other than RDS ofcorse covering the Habs Vs. Leafs on Tues Nov 13? Don't tell me Leafs Tv got there hands on this!!!! Guess I better make sure to buy tickets to this game.. Anyways.. here is the breakdown by network. NBC 1 game TSN 13 games CBC 17 Games Vs. 5 games RDS 82 games!!! It should be noted that CBC and NBC both have coverage of Jan 3 vs. NYR and TSN and VS. both carry Jan 22 vs. Bos. So instead of 36 games on English network TV its really ony 34. still not so bad considering we have 82 on RDS and Satlite or cable TV will give you all the non network games on local feeds. Why is nobody other than RDS ofcorse covering the Habs Vs. Leafs on Tues Nov 13? Don't tell me Leafs Tv got there hands on this!!!! That's my concern. Although, I'm very fortunate enough to have RDS available on our digital package here in Halton Region (Burlington/Oakville). It's not about me. I really feel for the little guy on this one. You know, the average Montreal or Toronto fan who doesn't have a dish or digital box. A Canadiens/Maple Leafs game should be televised nationally. Not limited to a small pay-per-view audience. Just so you know, Leafs TV is desperate. Seriously. They've lost just over 3 mil the past two seasons.
Guest f30marco
i always like switching to the english channels once in a while but i still much rather hearing RDS mainly for that extra enthusiasm they show for the habs. some commentators raise there voice when a goal is scored but purely for show as were you can clearly tell the excitement overflowing from the mouth of pierre houde when ever he screams ............ LLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEE BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!! just listening to it last night on youtube and it gives me shivers! can't wait for hockey, no matter what broadcast its on! Why does that not surprise me???I guess its tough making a living showing 40 years of ineptitude and having to broadcast in black and white to relive any glory years. Guest Habsy1
So I guess the Canadiens are getting 30 games on English television this coming season (17 on CBC and 13 on TSN). That's the same number we had on CBC last season but we're up from 8 or 9 on TSN last year. Personnally I prefer RDS most of the time but it's good to hear that CBC will be streaming those 17 games on their website so that if it's a regional game (ie. at the same time as a Maple Leafs game), fans across Canada without digital timeshifting channels will be able to access it. Anyone notice the CBC schedule where the Canadiens will appear 4 times within 8 days? Those games are the Super Bowl weekend matinees against the Islanders and Rangers on February 2nd and 3rd, against the Leafs on February 7th, and then in Ottawa on February 9th. The CBC has also given us a Thursday night on December 27th in Tampa Bay at the same time a Leafs game is scheduled (in Philadelphia) which they are not showing at all. Since when did CBC become HabsTV, hahaha? The TSN schedule looks alright. They have 4 games I think against Boston which makes sense but I'm surprised they took Edmonton vs Minnesota for their Wednesday Night game on October 10th when the Habs are playing Pittsburgh. Especially considering they love to showcase their beloved Crosby (TSN = The Sidney Network). Instead they give us games against the likes of Florida and Atlanta. It would be nice if the Canadiens could get themselves back on regional English TV during the week with Rogers Sportsnet East or somebody. But I suppose the numbers just wern't there to justify it before which is maybe why they stopped showing them. I don't know... And it's nice to see that the Canadiens will be the only Canadian team featured on NBC this coming season in their Super Bowl Sunday game against the NY Rangers. Too bad nobody will be watching it in the United States though as they'll mostly all be watching hours and hours of pre-Super Bowl-game coverage, hahaha.
