I love the RDS announcers too...I loved it though the year they were on strike for a while and we got 'just' the sounds from the arena, where you could hear EVERYTHING. The players, the sticks on sticks...it was great!

I do it all the time. I have Rogers digital cable and a PVR. It is awesome. The wife and I do not watch any live tv no more. We record it and watch later. It is awesome. If we start watching a hour tv show 30 mins in we finish the same time with no commercials.

Back to hockey. I play hockey a lot of the nights teh habs play. I record it. Do not talk hockey with any one. I come home shower, and do not listen to radio or searh net or tv. then turn the game on and watch. This year i do not care if I know the score, I am watching all Habs game that are aired on tv. I want to try and be critical of my Habs in a fair way.

How much was the PVR? And is the Roger's more expensive than Videotron? I already have Videotron, do you think they have PVRs?

Just an added precision here; it will be created in time for the 1st regular season game of the season, versus the Hurricanes.

I qam so exited about this, If it is true, I just bought and installed my HDMI cable yesterday. Will it come automatic or will I have to pay extra for it?? Is there a link for this??

i emailed RDS again regarding RDS broadcasting in HD and here is the response with names edited out...

Hi Mr. ............,

It will be on a seperate HD channel. We can not confirm which cable distributors will offer RDS HD for the moment. Some contracts are not finalized yet. Please contact your local cable distributor to get more details.

What cable company do you use? I have Videotron, so I have to pay something like $2,50 per month for the HD channels. So I'm pretty much excited too.

I am with Videotron too.

We don't have to worry, I'm pretty sure we'll get RDS HD in time... I mean, Videotron knows hundreds of people will want this channel.

By the way, the extra something you pay is $2,99, but this money isn't for Videotron, but is divided to all HD channels (or something like that).

What about Preseason games, I think it was Sportsnet that has 2-3 Preseason Vancouver games. RDS wont have any preseason feeds will they ? And will CJAD be broadcasting preseason games ??

RDS will only be showing the two preseason games against the Penguins, on hte 17th and 18th of September. As for CJAD, I think they will broadcast all preseason games on the radio, just like last year.

Yeah, I knew it was around there, just got it off the top of my head :P.
