Great game for Huet! He is so solid and I've noticed a huge change since the start of the season, his reflexes weren't as good and he was often caught out of position. Tonight he showed us how solid he really is especially keeping us in it late in the game. The only thing he needs to work on now is controling those rebounds, or at least pushing them away from the opposition.

He needs to work on a lot of things.

1) Lateral movement- He's so slow moving laterally when they make a pass from left to right.

2) He needs to work on breakaways.

Well I wouldn't say alot of things, he's getting the job done, right? If we were 10 games below .500 then I might get critical but he just won best goalie in the month of November so I think he's doing well.

He is showing he has the ability to be a #1 goalie in the NHL. I had doubts about him but he is playing very well. I should not have had doubts since he played very well at the end of last year, and fairly well in the playoffs. I still had doubts but combining his play so far this year, with his play last year he definitely is showing the abillity to be one of the 30 starting goalies in the NHL.

Poor Huet... It looks like the team thinks "Man, you got such a great contract, we shall make you work it off now by exposing you to a few more shots than healthy!" He faced another 39 shots this game against Toronto. And stays as cool as an oak. Quite impressive actually. Hope the team is aware that they owe him.

Huet I think is probably the best goaltender in NHL and if the team would come out to play every night they would be fighting for first place in Eastern Conference today instead of being fourth in East.

Keep up go work Huet and Come rest of team play hard every time out.

Huet huet huet, my dear Huet. Thank you for your great stop during this game because god knows if we would've lost the game 5-1, 6-1? Habs were pretty pathetic in the first and Huet kept us in the game.

Awesome... "Le frenchie a encore dit NON, no goal" 8)

My daughter's boyfriend a big leaf fan called me last night after the first period and said the way this game going it could end 10-0 for the leafs Ha Ha.

Well look who laughing now. Huet your the man.

Realy, don't get me wrong. The first part of my sentence was more like a question and not a fact. I don't know if i'm clear... (english , not my best...)

I'm 100% confidant in Huet !!!!!

I thought his rebounds have been pretty controlled. It's Abby who needs to improve in that department.

LOL that was priceless, he needs to work on a lot of things eh? 2?

He's pretty good on breakaways if you ask me...

And for his lateral? well he's always in position anyway...

I wonder if it ever gets frustrating for this guy when he's putting on a stellar performance and his team collapses in front of him, like offensivly and defensivly.

I can see where this could start to build some conflict. He's the hardest working Hab on the ice.

Huet's hot hand has Habs on a roll

John Kreiser | NHL.com columnist Dec 4, 2006, 10:30 AM EST

Cristobal Huet's goaltending down the stretch carried the Montreal Canadiens into the Stanley Cup Playoffs last season. He and the Canadiens are doing even better this season.

Huet, acquired from Los Angeles before the 2005-06 season as a backup to Jose Theodore, went 18-8-3 with a 2.20 goals-against average and league-leading .929 save percentage for the Canadiens in 2005-06. That included a 12-6-1 post-Olympic showing (with five shutouts) that led Montreal into the playoffs — and allowed them to trade Theodore to Colorado.

Huet, now 31, has even better this season, posting a 10-3-2 record with a 2.12 goals-against average and league-best .937 save percentage. He’s been especially hot recently, winning seven of his last eight decisions, including a pair of shootout victories this past week. Huet’s play is a major reason that the Canadiens are second in the Northeast Division and tied for fourth in the Eastern Conference despite having outscored their opponents by just seven goals. Fantasy GMs who were willing to take the chance that Huet’s late-season brilliance weren’t just a flash in the pan are being amply rewarded.

Peace,

Mike.
