Guest KOIVU#11
A weak effort in the third (ie 4 shots) but they pulled through nonetheless. The third period collapse I hope is not a re-occuring habit but anyhow they won, thats the main thing.

Guest Paulin98C
First of all ... GREAT GAME !!!! I was at the game, watch every second of it, loved every second of it. I was sitting in ROW E so 5 rows from the glass. Here's my analysis of the game and players from the Montreal Canadiens. I'm gonna first look at Halak's performances. Halak showed some great skills tonight. Definetely was NHL caliber tonight. He made great saves when he was screened ... but couldnt save O'Byrne's mistake at the blue line that caused Boston to score their first. Defence looked great, Komisarek has improved alot from last season, hes a much smarter D-man. Hamrlik was awesome, he danced with the puck at one time, it was quite funny. Hmarlik came up with great passes to get the puck out. Cote was good as well.. he however showed inexperiences in some plays. O'Byrne was good when not gonig for the hit. He cost a big 2 on 1 that resulted in a goal. He wanted to go for the hit instead of using hisl ong reach to poke check. He fought!!!!!! well .. pretty lame fight but he got 3 uppercuts in and didnt get it.. he was looking away... Streit was great at moving the puck again, I definetely give him a spot on the roster. Dandenault showed some nice puck moving on the PP, but didnt impress me at all ... he was OK. I didnt even notice who was the other D... hmarlik was on ALOT! The offence was great tonight. Plekanec was really good, the third goal he had all the time in the world to pick a spot and fire it. Plekanec's line dominated... Smolinski played a very good densive game tonight, I was really glad we signed him for this year. Chipchura was good as well, he isnt fast though. He got crushed in the corner chasing the puck on the PK in the corner... Higgins was unreal!!!!! He showed incredible stickhandling abilities tonight. aWesome to see him play. The penalty shot was almost in....Manny was good on that one. Grabovski .... meh.... I dont see him playing th9is year.... Im sorry to say this but yes he is reallly fast, but he can't pass! all the passes he made tonight were garbage! He has to stop with the blind passing. A.Kost and S. Kost would of had an even greater game with a better centre. Ryder... I saw his name on his jersey, ghost again.... he touched the puck twice i think .. got a penalty, I was disappionted, he had to show something tonight in MY BOOK and he didnt, so I'm retrograding him to 2nd line... or pressbox. Lapierre was great ! He did one hell of a pass in in fornt of Manny. Lapierre was often the first one on the puck. both Kostitsyn played well ...grabovski ruined their chances....They got penalty drawns... great game for them but no centre to play with them. grabovski was horrible. Milroy played a good game.. he showed good hussle, no major mistake , no major plays. Kostopolous was alright. Didnt see much of him really. Ben Maxell was OK .. didnt showed he was NHL ready tonight following the tonight's game I wanna see these line-up A.Kostitsyn - Koivu - Kovalev Higgins - Plekanec - D'Agostini Chipchura - Smolinski - Kostopoulos Begin - Lapierre - Latendresse Trade Ryder

Guest Habs_Mania
Just got back from Halifax.. Man what a game!! Plekanec was soooo fast and totally owned the ice. Great hat trick. Also I was really impressed with the defensive play of Hamrlik, O'Byrne and Komi. The Kostitsyns were getting into penalty trouble towards the end and cost a couple of goals. But all in all it was a great game! and STUPID me forgot to take my camera into the metro center.
Kindred
Got back from the game. I must say the habs played alot better this time around then in Moncton. Except for the 3rd period which we seemed to take off the habs dominated the game. Guys that stood out to me Higgins: Whatever rust he had on him last night is gone, today he looked great. I disagree with the post game write up on the site, the shot he let go was not weak at all. Andre Kostistyn: Seemed a little off for his first few shifts but for the rest of the game he looked great. Sergei Kostistyn: See above. Also he layed a hit on Murray that almost put him over the boards into his own team. However when he doesn't have the puck he kind of seems un interested. O'Byrne: Played a good game, not much of a fight, more of a hugging match. This guy is a beast like Komisarek, hard to say if they will keep him up with the big club. Halak: Looked good out there. The 1st goal he didn't have a chance on, the 2nd goal no one would clear in front of the net and the 3rd one was another fats goal . With a faceoff in our end with 9 seconds left we should be winning those faceoffs. Chipchura: Agressive, Fernandez went to throw the puck up ice and Chipchura jumped on it and kept it inside the Bruines blueline and forced another attack. The area I feel he may need to work a little mor eon is his skating but of the rookie forwards I could see him making the team this year. one other thing about the game: There was a man and his son at the game who were Bruines fans, the kid was handicapped and both he and his dad were right behind the Habs bench. A random stranger offered to change seats with them so the 2 of them could be right behind the Bruins bench and let me tell you, when they scored you could see his smile through out the whole metro centre. Guest KOIVU#11
Just to adress the Ryder comments that were made. No body is going to re-sign someone to a multi-millon dollar contract and shove him in the press box. Also if theres one thing I've noticed about Ryder he's a model of consistency. He consistantly screws up plays, he consistently doesn;t skate back, he consistently takes stupid penalties, he consistently doesn't pass, but he consitently scores the most goals every season on this team. And thats why he'll be on the 1st line beside Koviu and Higgins and thats why he'll be here until the trade deadline because NO ONE consistently scores goals YEAR AFTER YEAR like Michael Ryder and finally NOBODY ELSE got a natural hatrick last year against the leafs except Ryder becuase they were all to busy CHOKING. SO If I have to listen to another year of Ryder bashing my head is going to explode!!!!! Oh and I almost forgot, Tom Kostpoulous instead of Ryder? Thats wreckless. Guest Raimu
MAN That was good. I was there, only 6 rows up from the ice neer center ice... I've never seen NHL hockey so up-close and personal, MAN these guys are good XD. They make junior players look like chumps thats for sure! Anyway, I had a blast, and was verry happy to see the habs come away with a win, and I was also pleased that Glen Murray got a goal, too. Nice to see Nova Scotia natives that aren't sydney crosby doing well XD. Btw, the new Edge Jerseys do look really nice up close...

habulator
Glad to see the habs won last night and that Higgins scored. Hope he keeps on scoring. Looked to me as though Higgy is still in pain. Took a check and I sure didn't like the way he was holding his arm right before taking the penalty shot. Hopefully he might have been moving some extra padding around, or something of that nature - but he looked sore!
