I'm one of his fans. What I meant was, for him, it won't make too much difference between being 7th all-time in points or 4th. And as far as his fans go, he's 7th all-time now, and I doubt he will gain zillions more fans just because he moves up a notch or two in Habs all-time stats, or lose them if he doesn't.

But, if he should happen to win the Cup, those are the things that matter and the memories that last. Imagine the stories the '93 Cup team gets to live with the rest of their lives.....the ten straight overtime victories......beating Gretzky in his last Stanley Cup appearance......etc. That sure tops "hey, I'm fifth all-time point-getter for the Canadiens during that span of fourteen years where we only went to the playoffs a few times and always got knocked out early."

Lol, true. But the same thing could be said about Sundin, he'll never win a cup with the Leafs (safe to say), he'll always be remembered. Sure Sundin is a better all around player than Koivu, he has more points etc., etc., but like how Sundin will always be remembered with the Leafs, Koivu will be with the Habs.

Now it would make it so much sweeter if he could hoist the cup with the Habs, but as of lately, I really don't see that happening.

if it's a sinus cold, of course not! on the other hand sometimes the flu can knock down the strongest of them .... anyway, we'll know in less than 2 hours ;)

Wasn't he also sick last year, against Toronto, in one of his more dominant performances :D

Once again I refer to that old hockey player adage.....Play with the flu, you will score a goal !!!

It was proven true by Kovalev the other night .

then contaminate your linesmates who come to hug you after you scored... so umm...5 habs with the flu monday night and 5 goals scored against the bruins?

That should be our tagline during the centennial season! :D

I can picture the T-shirts now......

I guess that means we'll be known as the Bleu, Blanc, Rouge, Jaunne, Marron, Vert, Gris.....

.....eewwwww........

To stay on topic, Saku must have had it rough tonite. No points, no shots, and that bad defensive play that set up the Sabres' second goal. But hey, if it took that for Buffalo just to get two goals against us, we must have outplayed them better than I thought.

Get well Saku!

Through 8 games, Saku has 2 goals, 6 assists for 8 points (PPG) and a +3 rating, despite the fact that one of his wingers is unable to score and the other one is a young player who's only recently started to find his scoring groove.

This is not a slag of either Ryder or Higgins, but imagine for a moment: Kovalev instead of Ryder, Kovalchuk instead of Higgins. Imagine what Koivu could do with elite talent lining up beside him every faceoff.

I am just continually astounded by Saku's ability to produce when we have never, in his entire time here, made any kind of effort to surround him with top-line talent.

All that people need to do to see what it would be like, is check out his stats for the olympics when he plays with Selanne, and needless to say, the stats are tournament leading material.
