Nice stats, that line is slowly becoming one of the premier lines in the league. Let's hope they stay together. Pleks has great vision of the ice and always busts his butt out there. It was nice to see him get 2 goals last night.
Guest CanadianMike
remember when most fans here were talking about Perezhogin and forgetting about Pleks? So crazy the way things turn out, and so crazy how great Pleks has been for us. Turtleneck POWER!!
Guest AlexK
Perez would have been a good player I think. To bad he went back to Russia. He had a great start to the season last year playing with Bonk and Johnson. Pleks has been outstanding though.
Guest QbGamer
The frustrating part for me was to see the koivu line out on the pp for like 1.50 of it, and not putting our go to guys out there for more then those 10 seconds

They trapped the islanders and were like sharks circling prey. You can't just change lines when you have a chance to score.

fourtrax
Don't think I'd go that far with it. In the second half of 06-07, I'd say he was our best forward. This year, he's only behind Kovalev on that front. Comparing him to defencemen and goalies is unproductive, though, I agree.

Guest overlords
Koivu I love koivu, but pleks has outperformed him all of this season and half of last season, which kinda spells it out, you could argue that koivu didn't have good enough line mates too tho. tommyv
Koivu had a career best season last season, it would be very difficult to even try to compare the 2 last season, and this year it looks like Kovalev is on his way to having a very good season. I'd say Pleks has been awesome for us, but he still played second fiddle to Koivu last season, and is playing second fiddle to Kovalev this season as far as best player on the team arguments go. Plekanec himself credits Kovalev for his own strong play, and I have to agree, Kovy has done a great job with Pleks and Kosty, and thats not to take anything at all away from Plekanec, he has years to come of success, and perhaps very soon, his day will come where he is the best player on the team. Guest AlexK
None the less it's pretty impressive for one whos been in the league so short a time to put up near a point per game. Hes definitely holds his own and seems to click with almost everyone on the team. Likewise A Kostitsyn is really impressing for one so young with near a point per game for the last month or two. It really comes down to having three good players who work well together. Some nights one contributes offensively and other nights the other contributes. Its kinda the story of this team. Sometimes one of the the other chips in, but not always the same one. It seems to be working out pretty well so far. A lot of people complain about having another steady offensive line, but as long as all the lines make a contribution once in a while that may be all thats needed. As mentioned before this is the only team who matches Detroit for amount of 10+ goal scoerers. If Koivu and Ryder get to 10+ "which they will" then this team will have possible the best balance offensively over four lines.
Guest bcdog4
Tomas Plekanec is one of the most underrated players on this Montreal team. Guys like Chris Higgins, Saku Koivu, and Alex Kovalev get the spotlight, and Tomas quietly puts up the points while playing well defensively. I'm glad he's on this team...he just needs to improve his faceoff percentage, and he will be an amazing player!
Guest AlexK
I don't think hes underrated anymore. He has two flashy stickhandlers on who steal the spotlight, but hes not a bad stickhandler himself and he also is a good passer/shooter/defensive. Pleks seems to be able to play with anyone. If you can play well with Kovy then you are pretty good, because Kovy can be hard to play with for a while until you get used to him I think. Guest bcdog4
He may not be underrated to us, as Montreal Canadiens fans, but league-wide, he's still pretty unknown. That's what I meant. Anyone who follows the Montreal Canadiens knows how much he means to our team. Hopefully he will be in Montreal for many years to come!!
