Wow, talk about CLASS:

Two days ago, Pleky had a meeting with (the few and proud) members of the unofficial Habs fanclub here in Czech Republic. You can view pictures of the event via this link (the article is in Czech though).

Is it possible not to love this guy?:lol:

Thanks so much for that link :)

And to directly answer your question, here's an unqualified 'NO' :D (eventhough I know it was a rethorical question :D )

uh is the habs fanclub composed only of the people sitting on that table? I would have expected more.

keywords in newton's post: few, unofficial, in czech republic ;)

the official habs fan club has thousands of members but it's for kids of 16 and under.... and pleky is co-captain of it with lats

plek is seriously a guy every gm wants. hes gonna put up 70+ next year, because kovy is still going to be ona mission and andrei is gonna be even better.plus, pleks is just hitting his stride, hes gonna be a solid 75 pt guy for years now with the skill to break out and hit 80 or 90 on a good year (i hope hahaha *knocks on wood*) and on top of that is a very responsible player defensively. im looking fwd to another big yr, def one of my favourite habs

I agree Jeff. I think that Pleks will lead this team in scoring this year. I honestly do see him as an 80-90 point guy year after year once he matures a little more and gets stronger. His speep is phenomenal and he possesses playmaking abilities. I can't wait to see him this season. Hopefully he stays with Andrei and Alex.

He looked a little invisible during the playoffs,

Yep, definitely played a disappointing 2007-2008 post-season. With that said, he did acknowledge his poor play and was attempting to motivate himself to play better. In the last game against Philadelphia I believe he played an excellent game. I'm sure he's going to be excited to get back to the post-season and really show he can play with the big boys when it matters the most. After all, it took Pavel Datsyuk quite a long time to show he can be a play-off performer, too, and now look at him. Amazing! Hopefully Plekanec can be equally as good in a few seasons, as well.

I wish I could find the link, but I remember reading an interview were he explained that confidence had been a problem for him after being drafted and his earlier days in Hamilton.

His steady improvement each season has shown that he is getting more confident as well. His post season was sub par, yes, but it was also valuable experience that will carry over to this season.

Pleks has shown that he works to improve the parts of his game that need it. I think his post season play will improve just as all aspects of his game have improved.

I agree. Playoff experience is the best thing. And your example are spot on.

Actually, Pleky went into a mini slump starting in March. It took him quite a while to get back in shape after the flu or whatever it was he had on the West Coast trip. He got his act back together in the Philly series.

Can't wait to watch the lil' "col roulé" guy play again :)
