Guest Mauro_Biello
Played a decent game tonight. I just hope he can keep it up until the end of the year.
Guest jlapate
I think Smoke has played his best hockey of the season the last three games.
Guest Asterix9
He's been excellent since coming back from injury. We changed his two wingers today and he still played well. I'd like to see him with Begin and Dandenault tomorrow.

fourtrax
No question he's been a changed man since coming back from the injury, and good for him. He still has a lot of work to do to make me forget about his tepid first half, but he is on the right track.

Guest QbGamer
Na i loved bonk, we just thought he would have been a huge offensive threat, we just had to realize he was a defensive specialist, with some nifty offensive skills, that he hardly ever used. Smolinki on the other hand, has been a pretty big dissapointment sorry to say, maybe in the playoffs he will shine, as vets seem to play better
Guest jeff33
yeah bonk had a pulled groin his whole first season or something like that. he was injured anyway. and hes still better than smoke ...but kudos for putting in some much better efforts lately

Slow start, fans were calling for his head, then he turned it around. Unfortunately, his execrable performance last game isn't doing much for his stock. A few good games followed by one bad game isn't going to turn a poor season around for Smolinski. He needs to bring his A game to the rink every night. Guest jennifer_rocket
Absolutely invisible against the Senators. It's too bad we just didn't resign Bonk. He took less in Nashville for two years. I wouldn't mind having that decision back.
amp73
Hopefully if he doesn't get traded He has " NTC" = No Trade Clause , so unless he agrees to waive it he's here for the remainder of the year

Guest jennifer_rocket
He has " NTC" = No Trade Clause , so unless he agrees to waive it he's here for the remainder of the year And, unfortunately, THAT'S one of the reasons we won't be able to contend in the post-season. Because the player who's supposed to be anchoring our checking line, won't be able to play against opposing teams' top players.

fourtrax
HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE FO win by Brian late in the 3rd after markov's icing blunder It's what he's been paid to do all year, and what he has largely failed to do. I still want more consistency and effort from Smoke.
Guest Twillightzone
I am a bit puzzeld over the sesaon Smokster have had so far. Maybe its his age that is beginning to catch up with him, I dont know. This guy used to be very realible in most areas of the game and excel at face offs, good pk´r and not so bad playmaker that made him fairly good in offence as well. This year its seems like all his former talents vanished more or less. Cant put my finger on it and it isnt fun to see then a player you liked (never been a fan, but ackwnoledged his skills) fades like this. Maybe not that many people had any expactations on him at all, I sure had some (in that he would bring a sound defensive game and a little bit of scoring too). Hopefully he can bounce back and bring out/back the player I once knew. A few years back when Niklas Sundström stilled played in Montreal he and Smoke would have been a very stable shutdown duo. Cant help but wonder why Sundstörm never fitted in the Montreal either. I mean 2 way players with emphasis on defence and still got the skills for scoring never gets old. Sorry just rambling on here. Need some coffe bad!
Guest QbGamer
This is calculated by dividing $2 million by the number of days in the season (187). The amount ($10,695) is then multiplied by the number of days remaining in the season from the day the trade is made (41 days if trade is on deadline day) to ascertain the amount charged against the team's cap ($438,502). I as just reading a example of the trade deadline on hbsinsideout. Anyways i thought this wasa great example on howoverpaid these guys are. Smolinski's exact salary is 2 ml, sohe makes 10,695 per day, over the hockey season, CRAZY
Guest AlexK
This guy exposes are major weakness. The reason he plays is because we don't have any right handed goal scorers other then himself and Ryder. I think hes doing okay, but he seems to be struggling a bit again. I have to say that it's odd this guy plays instead of Ryder, but I guess since hes a center he gets to play. Hopefully the Habs can get a good right handed player in a trade. tommyv
based on what i'm seeing for some time by Smolinski, Grabovski would be no less of a defensive liabilty and would likely create more offence, it looks to me like mister Smoke will not be a Hab next season. Its unfortunate to think Chipchura lost a roster spot because of this. not at all the kind of player I was hoping he would be, my expecations were simply an excellent defensive guy, with a great faceoff % and maybe 30 - 35 points at the end of the season. Not any of these expectations are going to be met in the slightest margin.

He had a few good games a while back and I started to hope that maybe he'd finish strong down the stretch. But right now, he's just a depth guy to me. I would frankly not have any problem with calling Chipchura up and making Smolinski a bench-warmer.
Guest QbGamer
He will be good come playoff time, you always hear a team needs vets for the playoffs, well lets hope he earns his pay there..
