js2
He is overpaid when you consider how injury prone he has become. He only played 44 & 52 games in the last 2 years, while amassing 3 goals & 8 points last year, & 5 goals & 10 points the year before. IMO, his style of play has caught up with him. The Habs have young players who can easily fill his role if need be. Habs don't have anyone in their system with Begins willingness to block shots and dish out as many hits as he does. risteenhuis
I don't see Begin back with the team when his contract expires. He might even have to be packaged to clear some cap space if BG lands a big name player this summer. Begin works hard. But he is injury prone and takes some stupid penalties. He is 4th line player IMO. Easily replaced by low cost UFA or player from Hamilton. Not saying they will play identical to Begin but provide same type of 4th line minutes. He missed 38 games last year, & I think the Habs did ok in his absence.

The man plays with a edge to his game, he is pretty much the only guy on our team who does this. Yes he can cosgt us penalties from time to time. But it also gives the signal out there that you need to keep your head up and aware of where he is on the ice. I like his style alot. Hes not afraid of anyone
habsfan512
I agree about his toughness and we need to keep some of that going. I think we should see what happens at training we probably will have him 1 more year.
