He showed some great skills in the pre-season and I know the pre-season doesn't determine the season, but when he took the ice last season he was solid and he's gotten better over the summer.

I think he'd be a great asset and addition to the team. I'd love to see this guy get a spot.

It is nice to see that he was rewarded for a strong Training Camp. Hopefully he will be as solid and dependable during the regular season. Might be the surprise player on the team this year and one that many will not take notice of on the radar.

The best part though is that he is young.

True! Moreover, people forget that he had to fight for a spot too. The press is just saying: Price, Chips and Grabs made the team, no word on Gorges... but he had to fight for a spot too, and he sure did win this first battle.

Snuck in under the radar. ;)

The difference is that he, unlike the ones you've mentioned, was with the team last season.

Yes, but so was Lapierre and he got sent down. ;) There was no guarantee Gorges was going to make the team this year.

I was responding to the comment of the lack of publicity about Gorges making the team. He didn't get the publicity that Chipchura, Grabovski and Price got because he was with the team last year, so basically like Lapierre, it was his spot to lose... but he didn't and no ink about it. :)

Yeah he fought his lil' heart out to stay on the team...I saw the last game Vs the Sens, and boy could this kid move the puck and skate well.

Well deserved on the part of Gorges.

I liked this guy last year when he played, he always showed so much determination and heart, and he really excelled his game in the pre-season.

I think he's a great addition to the team, and I thought he was when he joined the team last season.

Way to go Gorges!

I'd really like to see Gorges out there on Saturday night vs. the Leafs. I think his hustle and youth will help playing a team like the Leafs.

I always had a bias towards Gorges because he came in a trade which involved Rivet to get out of Montreal. I hated Rivet.

But being un bias towards him he had a really good preseason, he made the cuts and he deserves to play. I have a good feeling about this youngster.

Yeah yeah... you're just into Josh, like into Lappy! Caught! ;-)

No seriously, he deserved a spot and was, besides Streit, one of the best guys in training camp! Let him play Carbo, this boy came a long way...
