Guest RedLightRacicot
Limited skills, going through a hot streak. It always evens out at the end of the season. If we only looked at October, Brian Savage would be in the Hall-of-Fame. Wait...are you saying Brian Savage isn't going to the Hall- of- Fame!! Guest habsrule_10
Saw Lapierre in Hamilton tonight. He was very impressive. It is beginning to look like Hamilton can not score a goal without him being involved. He either scored or assisted in each of their goals this season (He does not show up in the record of Hamilton's fourth goal tonight, he was on the ice, in front of the net, blocking the goalie's view). Expect to see him back with the Habs soon.

Guest js2
Well Lapierre continues to light it up with another goal and assist tonight. He leads the league with 8 points(4g-4a) in only 3 games so far. And to compare this season to last; last season he had 24 points(11g-13a) in 37 games. hockey_gal89
http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/csl.php?tid=791 I pulled these Hamilton bulldogs stats off of hockeydb.com and I was wondering if these are correct. IF they are, maybe we should keep Maxim down for the year; let him shoot out the lights so to speak...Let his game round out and mature.

Guest overlords
Problem with lapierre is that he's a big boy in the AHL now and can play a scoring game. In the NHL he's hardly a third liner. I love what he does against guys like crosby but i'm still really skeptical. If we can have a sean Avery type of player in laps i'd be satisfied. I'd like to see him bulk up a bit tho.
franck5890
I would love for Lapierre to be the next Avery. Avery is a better hockey player than people will give him credit for, and when you combine that with his ability to agitate and draw penalties, his value is pretty high for any team he plays on (regardless of how hated he is by the fans of the other 29 teams in the league). Guest The_Movie_Man
Lets go max, you will be call up in about 2 weeks i think, cauz you diserves it very much...i like you max!!! Just keep your game like that!

Yes but if he tears it up and puts up a 100 point season on the AHL, would that not benefit him more in the long run?

In order for him to be mentioned in the same category as Avery, he needs to finish his own battles and by that I mean successfully drop the gloves, which Avery does. Right now, he's more of a Ken Linseman, only bigger.
Guest cooch_a_mania
Max played great.. i kinda hope he sticks around a while... but then again. he is destined for the big team..

Mojo, that why it is the farm team. Maybe we should send Kostitsyn, Chipchura, Latendresse, Grabs, Price back down. I am sure they will do better down there also. Then we could have a better farm team and win the calder cup again. Point is he has been making an effort at the AHL level and if it continues he should be brought up. From what I have seen of Smolinskis, I would turn send him down and let LAps take his spot. He is bigger faster younger and cheaper.
Guest fansince1975
One would almost think that he wants back in Montreal... I didn't think Lapierre was a goal scorer. Pleasant surprise that he is leading the league in points. I think he is playing on the same line as D'Agostini and S. Kostitsyn. I would not be surprised if Lapierre returns to Montreal in a few games. Hopefully his energy type of game has returned as I don't think he will be on the top 2 lines in Montreal even though he is scoring in Hamilton. If anything, based on performances, I would say that Latendresse stands to be the first one sent down to the minors. Perhaps Grabovski is at risk, as well. If Lapierre keeps knocking on the door, bring him up. However, Smolinski will not be going down. That would be classless.
Guest JL
Let's not make the mistake of confusing the AHL with the NHL here... Smolinski is a strong veteran at the NHL level. Lapierre is a young rookie who's doing well for the time being at the AHL level, but can't quite put it together yet at the NHL level.
Guest habs_fan1160
He deserves a spot on this team more than some others do that's for sure. Hope to see him back soon.

Somebody would surely claim him and Montreal would be stuck for half his salary. As for Laps; I say way to go big guy. keep up the good work. We need him to gain some confidence in the AHL, similar to what Higgins and Plekanec got during the lockout season.

Guest fansince1975
Think we only are on the hook for half the salary on re-entry waivers, we would just lose him There are at least 6 other players that should be sent to AHL or released via waivers before even considering Smoke. I would be surprised if the Smoke contract is even a 2 way deal given his age and experience. I would be happy to see Lapierre back in Montreal based on his points and hard work so far in Hamilton. Plus I would be happy as he would most likely replace the sluggish Lats.
Guest FREDDYBEACH HAB
Is anyone able to confirm what position he's been playing? Is it his natural position centre, or the wing?
Guest Greek Hab
Is anyone able to confirm what position he's been playing? Is it his natural position centre, or the wing? In the first game vs. Rochester Maxim was playing on the wing. All the games after that he's been playing center.
