Guest HABSrockmyboat
he is on fire right now if he keeps on playing like that he could be back pretty soon. especially that everyone isnt playing on top of there game right now.
Guest FREDDYBEACH HAB
In the first game vs. Rochester Maxim was playing on the wing. All the games after that he's been playing center. Thank You
Guest habs_fan1160
I watched the game on TSN last night for the English factor and they were saying that Lappy deserves to be in Montreal more than Lats. So I guess it's not just me being bias, other's are seeing it too. Lappy would be great with us, whereas, Lats has been invisible. Lat's isn't the sensational wonder we all were hoping for/thought he would be. Not saying that Lappy would be either, but at least he's effective at what he does. Big difference between AHL and NHL In the NHlL he is just another 4th liner of which we appear to have an abundance of Lats has size that it sounds like he doesn't use. He's not very fast , so he's innefective

Well unfortunately Latendresse already has a free ticket to stay in Montreal and won't be sent down to Hamilton according to Carbonneau. In my opinion Lapierre can help the team out a lot more than Latendresse can at the moment.

He's not very fast , so he's innefective When Lappy was playing in Montreal he was pretty effective here too, mind you, not sensational, but a lot more effective than Lat's has been lately. Sure he may only make it to be a 3rd or 4th liner, but right now, Lats is playing and everyone is fooling themselves with the potential of this guy. I like Lats, so I'm not purposley trying to rag on him, I just don't think he's effective or a good solution to the problem. He's shown no effort out there this season, where all through training camp and preseason thats all Lappy did was give a great effort. Lat's is taking up a perfectly good spot that someone who outplays him should have.
amp73
I agree Lats is taking up a spot but that's where we have Begin, Murray and even Grabovski who are quite capable . I just don't see the point of bringing up Lapierre to fill a 4 th liner's spot when we have people here already
Guest JL
What's with the need of putting someone down when trying to raise another player's value? For some it was Lapierre by putting down Begin, for others it was Streit by putting down Brisebois, for some it's Kovalev by putting down Ryder, here it's Lapierre by putting down Latendresse. Why not simply say that Lapierre has worked his butt off and deserves a second chance? It's the same message.

I'm just saying that Latendresse isn't performing at the NHL level right now, and that's quite obvious. I like Lat's a lot, but when you're not playing upto par you shouldn't be here. Lappy has worked his butt off and he deserves to be on this team. I just don't see how guys that work hard like Lappy are stuck in Hamilton, while guys who aren't producing anything, or putting an effort in are "guarenteed" a spot here in Montreal. Hardly seems fair, or like a successful solution to the problem.
tmash
Glad to see him doing well in the minors, but I've seen way too many players with Montreal who could rip it up in the AHL or ECHL to never be anything more than fourth liners here (Jason Ward was the best of them, the other two that come to mind are Eric Landry and Benoit Gratton). Guest Miltie01
Lapierre did not get sent down in favour of Latendresse, he got sent down in favour of Chipchura !!! When he was sent down it was said they wanted him to olearn how to play wing, then he would be a challenger for Lats' spot !!! I hear he has only played 1 game on the wing though, is this true ? Lapierre has to either learn the wing or hope Chipchura is sent down. I myself hope all three do extremely well and give the managment a big headache. Lapierre has an edge that those 3 you mentioned don't or didn't ...and his recent offensive production has to do with him wanting to go back up rather than a new found offensive potential. Guest Greek Hab
with murray out of commission now lapeee-yerr might be called back sooner than later I think as long as Grabovski or even Latendresse are in the lineup, or in the press-box...Lapierre won't be dropping by anytime soon. Hopefully, I...am...wrong...

Hopefully, I...am...wrong... Wrong or not, Grabovski just bought himself a vip ticket for hamilton and if hes not happy about it, ill personally will pay for is ticket to Russia. And guess what... i doubt we will never seen him again in the NHL, he looks like a pee wee out there, it's just ridiculous. On that note, Go Lapierre Go. Guest ForeverGuyLafleur
Since Murray is injured for an indefinite period as well as Grabovski playing like a pee-wee, it's time to bring up Lapierre who's going to kick some butt up here. I can't stand waiting and waiting like that!

That's exactly why I didn't have an opinion on him. I had my doubts about him so I didn't want to get over confident or over praise him if it wasn't going to pan out here. I also heard the same comments about Pleks last year when he started with Kovelv and Samsonov. That he was not good enough, that he was two small, that he was out of place. They god managemnt didn't think the same way. Becuase after christmas he was our best player at both ends of teh rink.

Guest smoke
Hows he been doing down in the ahl? With murray down, you'd expect him to be called up for the next game we plan on using him No real reason tohave him sitting in the pressbox, after we have called him up, I think we will be seeing him with in the next 1-2 weeks
amp73
With murray down, you'd expect him to be called up for the next game we plan on using him Not necessarily We have Grabovsky, Kostitysn, Chipchura and Dandenault and Streit who can both play forward . Lapierre plays a style of game for which we already have numerous players who play the same style

Guest St. B. Voyageur
I wrote this on the french side, but I thought I'd share it here too. I had the opportunity to see Lapierre play here in the series clinching game against Manitoba during the Calder Cup playoffs last year, and what I saw of Lapierre didn't impress me. He was mouthing off all game, trying to instigate mélées, being a super pest, but his team was losing, 2-0. He really seemed to be playing his own game, and was invisible otherwise. On a team that was overpenalized last year, I'm not sure this kind of indisipline and distraction would be appreciated by Guy Carbonneau, especially if there are no results on the score sheet. I don't know if it is a maturity or an attitude thing with Lapierre, but with the strong centres we already have the only way I see him making the team is by injury to one of them, otherwise he may toil in the minors or become part of a trade package. I think his skating makes him an NHL player, but it is the other things that I am weary of.
