QbGamer
See Gamer. This is a very knowledgeable fan. I would never have predicted that Hamrlik would sign with the Habs, but Miltie had an idea of what Bob was thinking. Diffently which is why Miltie01 > then me and you combined
leafs_rock_go_mccabe
Actually in the Build your Habs thread I traded for Hammer quite a few months before Bob signed him !!! I think Bob reads my posts for ideas !!! I was cooking up the same thing last year, too. I loved how solid he was playing with Phaneuf in Calgary. Watching the late night CBC game, I noticed how much of stalwart he was for that team. Phaneuf was definitely worse without him. I remember CBC crunching some numbers one night about how Phaneuf's play was poorer when he wasn't paired with Hammer.
Guest Kovy-27
Expecting him to have more points this season, since he's going to play more on the PP! He's my favorite D wearing a Habs jersey. He was one of our best player during the playoff's,maybe our best!

I agree, a repeat of last season would be more than enough from him. If he does improve his numbers for whatever reason, then it'll be a pure bonus Roman, please no more missed games because of weird skin allergies this coming season
MFT77
Was a great surprise last year with his solid defensive and physical game. Never really saw him play much before, but came away very impressed last season.
FlHabsFan
The guy really anchored our defense last year. We saw that when he went down for that allergy thing. I dont care if he doesnt score 1 goal or get an assist, as long as hes keeping the other team from scoring.

Agreed, he was a definite asset and it showed what he meant to this team when he missed a few games. I'd like to see him take Streit's spot on the powerplay and get some points. I would rather keep him on the second unit to ensure some defensive strenght , whether to patch a booboo or to be ready when the opponent gets out of the box if we didn't score. You have a point, but I feel that after Markov, Hammer is the next best puck moving defenseman on the team. That's why I feel he should take Streit's spot on the PP. That's why I feel he should take Streit's spot on the PP. The more reason to put him on the second unit, Markov's partner on the first unit doesn't have to be a D-man IMO. Then again, I guess it all depends on who the opponents are, what the score is and how many penalties the Habs are taking as well. I would pair Hammer with Markov from time to time if the situation requires it, but would have them play most of the whole 2 minutes.
hab4life46
Here's his career stats. Can't you remember him from the Islanders? http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?service=page&am...38&tab=crst if u actually look at HAMMERS career stats it seems like after leaving tampa his defensive game got a whole lot better in plus minus. i remember when BG signed him last summer i know who HAMMER was and he was a good offensive threat from the bluneline but thats all about it but man he was a defensive wall on the blueline for us. i think if he gets some more time on the pp this year like eveyone is saying then you could see his point totals rise but i don't care if he gets more points as long as he's plays as well as he did this year it all good in my books. i would really love to see him paired up KOMI but thats more then likely not going to happem since it will be Markov and Komi. but even if one of our younger prospects make it i think Hammer could be a great pairing for our youngsters to help them break into the league
