Guest canadiensgoalie12
Its really funny how Hamrlik is proven his critics wrong. Some said he was last years worst UFA signing because of the $$$$$ Now he has lots of points and he is a rock defensively!!! Great job Roman! Guest AlexOscar
Easy for me to say now obviously, but pre-season I thought he was by far our best signing and that he is today. In my humble opinion, he has been our best defenseman so far.

tommyv
Both have been sensational, i'm so glad to see Hamrlik doing his best to justify the salary everyone will try to shove down his throat when he has a bad game or 2.

Guest StratfordStreak
I'm extremely impressed with him this year. I wasn't crazy about his signing in the offseason, but he has made a beleiver of me.
Guest Handlanger
I LOVED the signing, and he did not disappoint me.... He might play unspectacular, but he is soooo calm and solid.... other attackers must be getting crazy by trying to make this guy angry or nervous. It's just not possible
Guest f30marco
all i can say is souray who??? nah just kidding i would of loved to still have souray in the lineup but man o man hamrlik is good! he is turning out to be one of the best signings in years!! but the again it is early but never the less he is doing great. Guest silversnake
love what he is doing and feel very confident when he is carrying the puck. Yesterday against Atlanta he had a few amazing shift. One in particular it felt like he was doing laps around the ice and he was doing everything , i was just happy to see it. Experience and skill, mate. A magical combination. When I first read we had signed Hamrlik I was almost doing the tap (read: tap, not lap) dance. And he hasn't disappointed me, and he won't either. Let's just wait till we make the playoffs and our experienced "newcomers" like Hamrlik and Smolinski will prove their worth ten fold.

That's not even counting the others that bring so much to the team in terms of leadership. I knew Hamrlik was good from what i read and heard and not so much from what i've seen since he was in Calgary before. I'm very happy with him
Guest ComeBackStanley
Yup. i'm pretty happy with Hamrlik too. While everyone was talking about offence i saw a hole in our defence (offence can't score when we're always in our zone and we can't win when the D doesn't do their job well and lets the other team put pucks in). While yes i think our offence could use some help i think it is good enough to win us games and Hamerlik is great and helps us a great deal on defense. i also believe that it helps that we moved up dandenault as a forward when he's played defense for a long period of time. Its like having two players in one who can easily do both tasks.

Guest js2
Heres an article on Hamrlik and last nights game and how he loves it here. http://canadiens.nhl.com/team/app/?service...rticleid=341975 “The guys had a pretty good laugh there just before it was time for me to shoot. What a bunch of jerks,” said Hamrlik with a smile, shaking his head. lol
Guest habs_fan1160
I really like Hammer, he's been effective for us and he has the right attitude. Too bad he missed on the penalty shot, but he's a d-man. TSN was saying that he should have faked an injury and let someone else take the shot. Guest Hoser
Hamrlik is a beast! Our best defenseman this year in my opinion, just all over the ice with hits and great defensive plays and some offense to go along with it!
Guest MTL_HABS_24
Is it just me or was Hammer's game last night pretty much undistinguished (I'm trying to be kind)? He certainly didn't show me he could be a 2nd pairing Dman. He looked slow, afraid to get involved physically and his breakout passes weren't crisp. I hope he gets used to our system over the next few games and becomes the defensive player we all thought we were getting. What a difference a few games make. Hammer's looking GREAT and I couldn't be happier with his defensive game. He's such an improvement over Souray it's not even close. His positional play is exceptional, he's not going to make the highlight reels (Spezza, Crosby) and his first pass inside our blue line is usually on the tape. It looks like he's fit in nicely in Montreal and I'm happy to be eating crow especially since I was a bit harsh on him 3 weeks ago. Keep it going, Hammer, you made the right choice coming to Montreal.
fourtrax
When forwards like Higgins are openly saying that they feel comfortable taking more offensive chances because of your calm presence on the backend, you are doing your job as a defenseman. Way to go, Roman!

Way to go, Roman! Indeed. He's been a welcome addition to the blue line & finally, FINALLY, we have a strong defense again - what with Markov turning heads as an elite dman & hamrlik & komi rounding out hte top 3 - and you cant forget streit's impressive start....plus all our depth - our defense might not have been this good since the late 80 when we had Chelios, Ludwig, Robinson, Svoboda, Lumme, Desjardins & Green. Guest smoke
Its hammer time. Imagine if had signed sourray this summer, 1) our pp wouldnt be as good 2) We would have a ton of more goals behind our goales 3) hes injured, we might have had to trade someone to get another D, kinda like what happened last year, Not to just compare to sorray, But this guy realy is awsome, and the best thing is he LOVES playing here, so far
Guest CanadianMike
He has been playing really well. I wish he would shoot when it is time though. Last night in the first the fans were all in shock when the puck went back to him and he didn't (at least try) to rifle it. Nice surprise for the Habs this year. I think we will complain about him in a few years (slow), but right now he is doing everything asked of him and more.
