Mauro-Biello
Saying "exceeding his potential" means the 53 points is the best he'll do.. ever. It could have meant exceeding his potential as in ahead of "development" expected of him last year.
fourtrax
I am hoping for a 60-point, 30-goal season. Anything more is gravy.
Michael19Cammalleri67
30 goals and 50+ assits That what i want him to become, almost point per game.
fourtrax
30 goals and 50+ assits That what i want him to become, almost point per game. Well, that's what I want too, but it's unrealistic to expect that in his second full season in the NHL. I truly believe he will be a PPG player in time, but we need to let him develop at his own pace.
teststory
I would just wait and see what happens. Hes still very young and so it is hard to say for sure how effective he will become as a player. Some players take a while to develop, some never do, and some are good from the start. All players are different. The worst thing you can do is expect him to be an all-star right away IMO.
hockey151
he's a good player but i can't see him getting 80 points, unless the lines got changed up. As good as Kovy and pleks are i jsut can't see this kid hitting 80 this season. He's my favorite youngster to come up and im finally glad he's here i don't think its impossible for him to do i just dont see it happenin this season. Dutch
Its very possible he can get arround the 80 pts, in the future. He needs to develop some more.

puckoff1
you know what why not? andrei picked up his 50 pts on the last 50 games...remember he spent almost 30 games earning his spot on the 2nd line, carbs tried lats there for a long stretch, andrei got in and out. he was pretty much ppg once that line was formed, im pretty sure at least anyway. like weep id be happy with him improving on last year, hitting the 30g or 60 pt mark, preferably both, but this kid is the real deal. he shuold have been a top 10 or even top 5 pick, fate smiled on us with him and his misdiagnosed health problems. if he has a crazy year next year i wont be all that surprised, i think this kids gonnabe great
js2
I really hope you are right, it would be great. After watching him play for 4 years I really think he has what it takes to reach that mark this season.
leafs_rock_go_mccabe
I, too, feel like Andrei could A] be our first 40 goal scorer in a while, and B] come close to reaching 80 points at sometime during the duration of his current contract. QbGamer
I think were all thinking too much of this guy.. hes still a young kid. 40 goals next season is pushing it. He did have 2 amazing Highlght goals last season, but thats it...
Marshizzle
I think the problem is, nobody is used to MTL players getting more then 1pt/Game. Our Usual Scoring leader is a Koivu with 72 Pts or what not, and this year we already had Kovalev with 84 @ the age of 34. We have a handfull of Elite young snipers (Skost, Akost, MaxP) come to mind. I expect AK47 to hit 70Pts this season, and SK74 to hit the 55-60 Mark. We will have Tanguay on our team this year, a well known 1pt/game player. Piece him with the right line combination and good things will happen. If Sundin is added look out, we may have a 90pt player on a team. (Not sayin Sundin, but a player) AK-46 - Sundin - Kovalev Hows that for firepower?

He did have 2 amazing Highlght goals last season, but thats it... He definitely has the potential to be a 40-goal scorer, but expecting it this coming season is unrealistic. Expecting 30 goals and 60 points, though, is not unrealistic for 08-09 IMO.
captainjack22
He can and will be our 40 goal man, remember at the start of last season he was in the pressbox and playing low mins on the 3rd-4th lines. I dont think me hooked up with Kovy and Pleks until about the middle of november or maybe even later.
tony1234
This kid is wondefully talent and has one heck of a shot (which I still would like to see more of). He will score forty at least, he has the talent to score 50 a year, but if he doesn't this upcoming season I will not be disappointed. If he scores 40, I also would not be surprised in the least. We won't rush him, and we musn't limit him either.
westernleafsfan
I agree with everybody predicting 30G 60Pts from Andrei next season... But we must not forget that this year teams know about his scoring touch and will be prepared for him and Kovy as our top goalscorers... his output will pretty much depend on how heavier competition and gained experience are balanced... But he has shown more than flashes of what he can do on the ice when put on the right line last season, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him have a real break-out year. I just don't want to expect it too early so I'm not disappointed. Anyway, there's no reason not to think of him as being a future 40+ goalscorer

Mauro-Biello
At least he'll start the season with the Habs and he probably won't get benched so much this year. 30 60 90 sounds reasonable
DA_Champion
Playing against high quality Boston and Philadelphia in the playoffs (6th and 8th in 15 or 16? team conference), Sergei and Andrei had 8 points in 12 games. Those are also their more recent games and so that might be more representative. If so, then expect ~60 points from them both next year. Are the Kostitsyns more valuable than the Sedin twins? Maybe not yet, but soon I think. By the end of next season.
tommyv
If they can get to the same Level as the Sedin's, their drafting will have been a success in my books.
puckoff1
im pretty sure i read last year that their numbers are ahead of where the sedins were at at this point in their careers. personally i think they will surpass the sedins, the bros are for real. i cant wait for this year
leafs_rock_go_mccabe
Andrei and Sergei both seem grittier than the Sedins, too! Which is awesome! Andrei can lay out/take the big hits, and Sergei doesn't back down from the rough stuff. The Sedins have always seemed soft to me.
