Guest halifax_habs
Well, I'm hoping Price has a great game, but honestly, the only way this move makes sense is if Carbo is looking to nip the 'goalie controversy' in the bud right away. If Price plays well, he'll continue to play. If Price has a rough night, Carbo can then go back to Huet without anyone second-guessing the decision. If Price is scheduled to start 25 games this year, as some have suggested, than that is about every third game. I think him starting this game makes a lot of sense if he is going to get that many starts.
Guest JL
Uh, not tell a goalie that he's going to be starting his first regular-season NHL game ever against Sidney Crosby and the Penguins? No offense, but that seems like a recipe for disaster. If Price starts, he should know well ahead of time so he can prepare. The downside of telling a young goalie too far in advance is the nerves factor. However, Price does have nerves of steel, but expect a white night for him tonight! It makes sense to start him against the Pens as Huet will be starting for the home opener, plus it kind of matches what I've been preaching, giving Price one start a week (every third game or so) to see what he can do and monitor his progress. Guest smoke
Its going to be a great game, a Must see Of course we all hope he wins, heck were all hoping for a shut out. but at the same time his first real game @ nhl level, u have to expect some messups. Would be nice if he could stop 90% of the shots, and our forwards have a stellar performance, and we score say 4 goals to give the kid a win! Guest Greek Hab
hmmm... Dryden and Roy both started their first game in Pittsburgh, coincidence or not? Well, we are a team of tradition. Good luck tomorrow night Carey. I have class until 7:00 tomorrow, so I'm going to have to race home and not be late. Win or lose, this game will get the jitters out of our young goalie. Bonne match demain soir!

Dig a little deeper and I bet some of our not so great goalies started there too...... means nothing...

Guest fansince1975
I think he will play a very good game. Three keys. Cover Crosby and Malkin with Chips, Smoke, Begin, and Pleks. Don't allow many PP. Keep the puck in the Pens end of the rink. It is nice that he will get his first NHL game. Hopefully it will be his first victory. The TEAM will have to play smart and hard but with solid goaltending they certainly will have a chance.
Guest xe_liam88
I think it is fate that has Price starting against the Pens...the hockey gods seem to be looking down on this kid, just look at last year for proof, he is going to be something special! Guest Hoyle00cdn
Maybe Gainey was looking for a game that would come close to the same anxiety pressure a rookie goalie would face entering his NHL debut in the playoffs.
Guest Memo Gonzales
Yeah! It's so great to see Carey in action. Here's hoping for a solid game of him, it'd be awesome for Carey to start with a win.
Guest RadioHab
Best of luck to Carey tonight for his first nhl game. Talk about getting thrown to the wolves, there will be nothing easy about facing the offence of th Pens thats for sure! I am sure he will do fine though, when push comes to shove he will be in the zone and the team will support him. GO HABS GO!
Guest CanadianMike
Team990 this morning were talking about how Carbo said no matter what happens tonight, Huet is starting on Sat. WHY DOES HE HAVE TO SAY THIS? WHY DOES HE HAVE TO SAY ANYTHING? Price doesn't need to know this before he goes out there. This can be the beginning of a wonderful career tonight. I just hope the opposite doesn't happen because I don't feel like hearing half of this city jump off of the bandwagon after 1 game. GO PRICE GO!! Because he doesn't want the media to read more into it than what it is... ensuring that his young goalie doesn't go over a week without action! Let's face it, although not weak, Huet wasn't stellar so far and it would be easy for anyone to jump to conclusions and Carbo wanted everyone to rest assured that the move wasn't a punishment to Huet. Well done if you ask me.

Guest arsen
look what i found http://www.tsn.ca/tsn_talent/columnists/bob_mckenzie/ what they said: - a potential Martin Brodeur look-a-like. A potential franchise goalie.
Guest Habsfan_11
..and if Price gets a S. Does it make sense to go back to Huet? I don't think it should matter. Carbo wants Huet there for the home opener. Carbo wants to give Price a game so he doesn't have to sit for too long, knowing already that Huet is going to play on Saturday. If Huet started tonight, then played the home opener on Saturday, Price would have to wait 6 days from today for a start. It's already been a little while since Price has played a full game in the preseason.
Guest FlHabsFan
..and if Price gets a S. Does it make sense to go back to Huet? Yes. If Cris has a couple bad games in a row, then there can be discussion of Price taking over. Till then, no reason to hang him after 1 bad game. You know if Price has a bad game tonight, people will start calling him over rated and trash talking them. But I think there are people who want these goalies to do bad so the other will get the nod as #1. Which is sad. I hope Carey does have a great game tonight. I also hope Cris has a great game against the Canes. 2 goalies playing great playoffs at least.
Guest jennifer_rocket
Price playing makes a ton of sense. Huet's starting the home opener (presumably), so Carbo doesn't see it as necessary for Huet to start 4 straight games. If we play the entire season, and we're successful, with Huet playing 2 or 3 games, then Price playing 1, I would be a happy camper!
Guest wlsage
I'm glad Huet is being targeted to play the home opener. Afterall the Canadiens are a classy organization and Huet has earned that respect. Throwing Pricer against Sid da Kid, why not. Somehow Sid has managed to avoid our goalie from the west coast. Was a no-show at the Prospects game after playing in the World Juniors and didn't play with Carey on the U-18 squad. then he sat out the exhibition game against the Habs this fall.... So a lot of folks from Williams Lake will be cheering on the Habs tonight!
