Guest 1970 Habs
Disappointed when he was cut. Maybe if he had the razzle dazzle of Grabovski he would have stayed. Regardless a second year in Hamilton will make him a stronger player and hungrier for next season. Here is hoping that you too have an injury free season!!! aegrith
This guy gets no love at all on here, people talk about Lap every single game, but Daggy scored 2 damn goals last night and playing amazing. Honestly, i think Dag is gonna be up before Lap, since we need goal scorers not MORE shutdown players "ie Smoke/Kosp/Chip etc..." I say send Latendresse down for skating lessons and get this Kid up on the third line for us! or even better, get rid of Kostop.
Guest js2
I was surprised to see how fast D'Agostini could skate with the puck last night. He's going to be huge for the habs when he gets his chance. The type of guy that no one will be disappointed with.

If he had a stint on the third line it would be a dissapointing one, because as you said he's a goal scorer. He'd need a shot on the fourth line with grabs and someone else (maybe 'lil kosty! ). All i know is that some of our guys in the AHL are really making it known that they wanna come back. And I know there are some guys up here (lats, mainly) that are already on their way back down. Guest JL
Their top line would beat ours.... Let's not exaggerate... There is this tiny detail you're forgetting and that is the league they're playing in and the "little" step in caliber between the two.

Guest The_Movie_Man
Latendresse? Kostopoulos? If these two guys dont play very good all the other games, why keep dagostini in hamilton? Sorry for my english..

There is this tiny detail you're forgetting and that is the league they're playing in and the "little" step in caliber between the two. pessimism has its flaws eh JL i was really impressed with the way "dags" carried himself in the offseason and hes showing more and more of that flair now in the AHL. theres no doubt this kid is fast and can play. but as call ups are concerned: lets wait and see. weve got a decent team up right now and adding an AHL player who needs some time to adapt at any point of the season, unless injuries occur, isnt something this management plans on doing. however...come playoff time... -Matt
Guest overlords
Wow, i really had to go digging for this guy. He has a 7 game point streak with the dogs, we need a scorer for the first line that can keep up with sergei and koivu... hmmmm

Guest 1970 Habs
At least D'Agostini has scored tonight to keep his consecutive point streak going.
Guest overlords
At least D'Agostini has scored tonight to keep his consecutive point streak going. See, now i haven't even seen the GDT for the hamilton game, you got me worried And yes, i really believe that d'ags could become a good offensive player for our ailing koivu line, but after tonight, i really liked what i saw from the higgins/koivu/sergei experiment. Guest bcdog4
D'Agostini is second in scoring on the Bulldogs behind Corey Locke...I believe that D'Agostini will get his chance with the Canadiens...but probably not this year. I may be mistaken, but didn't he play a game for the Habs last year?
Guest Greek Hab
The big year for when players from Hamilton will make their move up to Le Grand Club is going to be 2009-2010. Don't expect anything big next year, unless the Habs end up buying out contracts. Guest jennifer_rocket
Could this guy potentially play a 3rd/4th line role in Montreal next season?
Guest Greek Hab
^^^^^ jenn, refer to my post above you. Unless the Habs end up buying out contracts, don't expect D'Ago, or any other 3rd or 4th line forward to come up. 2009-2010 is the year for Bulldogs players to move up. hockey_gal89
Quick question: IF Ryder does not resign in MTL next season, what do you think this kids' chances are for earning a roster spot in 08-09?
Guest Greek Hab
First things first, signage for all of our young RFA players need to take place. - The first line is a given. - The second, I could see Sergei maybe getting moved to a lower line, IF we pick up somone in the offseason(most likely not a depth player...we have plenty of that). A scorer, maybe. Andrei - Plekanec - Kovalev Higgins - Koivu - Sergei <--- Maybe a new scorer -------------------------------- - Grabs and Lapps will stay where they are, I believe. Both can play wing and centre, so that's a good combination. - Lantendresse...I think this is how D'Agostini would get the best chance at making the lineup next season, if Gui gets sent to Hamilton. Latendresse - Grabovski - Lapierre <--- Sergei may take Gui's place(Hamilton), because of scorer on 2nd line(which would cancel out the ABOVE BOLD part). ------------------------------- - To replace Smolinski, I think Chipchura will return. - With the rest of the 4th liners, they'll stay where they are including the *reserves. Streit - Chipchura - Dandenault *Begin, Kostopoulos, _________ <--- D'Agostini could be the 3rd reserve, since Brisebois won't be taking the spot. Those are all the combinations I can think of now. Guest 1970 Habs
Hockey's Future Article - 10 March 2008 What you see is what you’re going to get with D’Agostini. Rarely spectacular, he’s always in the mix during key moments in the game. This year, his second professional season, D’Agostini is showing the consistency that’s been his hallmark. In 60 games so far he’s scored 17 goals, added 23 assists, and racked up 28 penalty minutes. Last year, in 63 games, he tallied 21 goals, added 28 helpers, and spent 33 minutes in the penalty box. D’Agostini won’t be a star in the NHL when – and if – he gets there, but he will be the type of complementary player that every team needs to succeed – one that’s willing to do the dirty work and the little things.
