I'm still curious as to what this guy can bring to the table, here's hoping he succeeds in Hamilton.

Now that Training Camp is over I am not so sure myself. I guess we will see how he pans out in Hamilton.

I think most of the hype came from Selanne's endorsement of this guy and lots of people couldn't help getting caught up in it. Having not seen him play I wasn't about to jump on the band wagon until he proved it. He was kind of invisible in the game I saw but I'm still hoping he's a decent enough prospect to warrant at least some of the hype...if not no big deal though!

I thought he looked good enough. He needs to adapt to our game over here.. and from interviews, he's willing to work on it in Hamilton. I'm looking forward to his progression. I expect him to be a top player for the dogs.

Janne must have some ability or he would not have been invited to camp.

I think most of what we saw, or should I say what we didn't see was due to culture shock.

He just was not ready to compete in an NHL camp. Hopefully he does his due diligence in Hamilton and is more prepared next season.

I didn't think he looked that bad the one game I saw him in during the preseason.

He's adapting to the style in North America and he'll get the opportunity to do that in Hamilton.

I'm looking forward to watching his progression, he should turn out pretty decent.

I forget which game, but it was at home, Janne got into a fight. He was defending his mate who was on the end of a dirty hit. It wasn't a huge fight, but Janne landed the better punches.

Does he seem to be adapting to our style of game?

In the Bulldogs' News Thread, I was listening to Derek Wills on Team990, about the Dogs. Derek appears on Team990 every Monday in the monring. This was from this week's Monday.

vvvvv

He has becoming more and more confortable in every game. It's been an upward climb for Janne, from training camp until now.

Lahti has been playing on the wing with Ferland.

From the RDS stats, he's got 5 points (1 goal, 4 assists) in 11 games. I dont expect him to have a point per game, but one could hope he can play for .500. But considering the current Habs lineup, Lahti will probably never make the big team.

we will need to wait for a few (1,2,3) years to get him ready for the Nhl. He isnt great but if he works hard he can probably make it on the habs soon.

Nice sig

You never know with prospects. Look at Lapierre vs Urquhart. Drafted same year close to the same round, similar stats and skill sets. One is buried in the system and the other has laready played in the show and is close to returning. The truth is, none of us including Lahti know where is ceiling as a player actually is, but he seems to be progressing well. He was billed as a bit of a Tikkanen/Jarko Ruutu type anyone know if he is actually filling this role (saw the post about the fight so maybe he is)? We could use that type of player.

Depends what line they are using him as well. I doubt he's playing first line minutes. Thus a reflection in his point total. IMO the most important thing for him to learn would be the defensive game. He could score in his league, if he's a goal scorer he'll get it here too.

He started off very strongly but (like most of the team) he has been invisible lately, he has been used first and second line a lot but as you know Lever doesn't keep things static.
