fourtrax
you think he could be hiding some offensive skills? Maybe. I'm going more by the article's suggestion that the Badgers' defensive style isn't necessarily allowing him to think of generating offense a lot. Not so sure about that, other than Turris there isn't much of a scorer on this team and I think offensive help is more than welcome from the defense. McBain plays D and had 21 points for us this year in like 32 games.
Guest fansince1975
I think that Ryan will play 2 more seasons in college. He will then make the jump to the NHL. No AHL. He is a blue chip prospect. No reason unless he gets injuried that he would need to play in Hamilton. From my understanding he can play 2 more full seasons in US college. Why rush the player from US college where he has a very good coach only to put him into Hamilton? Therefore keep him in US college and then allow him to make the Habs out of training camp. He might be good enough to make the team before then but why rush him. One of the big benefits of drafting US college players is the extra time for development. So again, no need to rush him. Sounds about right. However, I think he might play only one more year in college, and then play in Hamilton in the 2009-2010 season. Probably getting some NHL action if injuries occur. Guest privateserver
I hope he starts AHL next year so in 2010, we have a good and ready prospect. Hes potential is to be a #2 defencemen.
Guest 1970 Habs
Ryan McDonagh and the University of Wisconsin Badgers play NCAA Midwest Hockey Regional The No. 17 University of Wisconsin men’s hockey team opens NCAA Tournament action this weekend, facing No. 3 Denver at 5:30 p.m. CT on Sat., March 29 at the Kohl Center. The Badgers earned the No. 3 seed for the 2008 NCAA Midwest Regional, where they will be playing for the fourth time in six years. In the first round of the tournament the Badgers will face WCHA playoff champion Denver Pioneers again after losing to them in the WCHA Final Five last weekend in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Guest 1970 Habs
Ryan McDonagh did not tally any points as he and the University of Wisconsin Badgers beat favoured Denver Pioneers 6-2 and advance to the final today where they will face the University of Dakota. Guest 1970 Habs
Sure hope he doesn't follow in Turris' footsteps and stays in Madison. Actually rumour has it that Phoenix is actively courting Turris to sign an entry level contract and leave the NCAA.
Guest Anetéchrist
I believe that it is what he meant. Let's hope that McDo will stay in the NCAA whereas Turris would leave it. The development of this defenseman is not complete yet at this level.

Guest Habs_Benny
Yeah that's what I meant, Turris signed for 3 years, depressing for Badger fans. I guess if I had the opportunity to sign for a good chunk of money at 18 and play for Gretzky, I might do the same thing.

johnny_canuck_21
Mike Boone thinks that Higgins and Ryan McDonagh could be packaged for Olli Jokinen. He thinks it's a steep price & it may not be enough. I agree that it is a steep price, and would be very surprised if it happens. However, you have to give up a lot to get a player like Jokinen. http://www.habsinsideout.com/boone/8516

fourtrax
Esspecially for a player that's overrated. I don't think Jokinen is overrated. I just feel that McDonagh is a blue-chip prospect who should only be traded if we're getting an elite player in return. If not, we have plenty of other good D prospects to dangle in front of Florida for Jokinen.
utreder
Montreal can't afford to give up Mcdonagh anyway. Who's a better defenceman than him in the system? There's no one else who could play on the top pairing if Montreal lost Markov. Korneev is top four material on the Russian team, so maybe he could but they don't have him signed. Gainey isn't an idiot.
