Guest Hawksfan
the team I have loved since my childhood in the early 80s. It is sad to see how far this team has fallen in the last few years. Hopefully with all of hte young draft picks and the change of ownership, thigs might be getting good for us hawks fans. Guest Hawksfan
save your money. I doubt I would ever buy a Samsonov jersey (if that is what you are talking about). If you are talking about making my trip to montreal to see the hawks/habs, I have already bought my tickets and booked my hotel.
Guest ChriS_HigGinS#1
If Ruutu and especially Havlat can stay healthy this year I wouldn't be surprised if the Blackhawks contend for the 7th or 8th spot in the west.

Guest Hawksfan
Rocky Wirtz is now running the hawks, after his brother Peter resigned. http://blackhawks.nhl.com/team/app/?servic...rticleid=339250 Rocky Wirtz Assumes Role As Hawks Chairman Chicago Blackhawks Press Release Oct 5, 2007, 2:25 PM EDT The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that Rocky Wirtz will assume the role of Chairman of the Chicago Blackhawks. Peter Wirtz has resigned his position as Vice President of the team but will retain his role as President of Bismarck Enterprises. “My brother Peter informed me of his decision to leave his role as Vice President of the Blackhawks. While I had hoped that Peter would stay on and help in rebuilding the Chicago Blackhawks into a winning and successful franchise, I respect his decision. He has worked at my father’s side for many years and has decided, at this time, to change his focus,” Rocky Wirtz said. “Peter will continue in leading Bismarck Enterprises and has pledged his complete support and loyalty to me and to the Chicago Blackhawks.” “In my new role, I look forward to working with General Manager Dale Tallon and Head Coach Denis Savard,” he continued. “I feel the team is in good hands under Dale’s guidance and leadership. We are all focused on putting a winning team on the ice and winning the Stanley Cup.” While leaving the team, Peter Wirtz said he backs his brother and the Blackhawks. “My brother Rocky brings with him a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm from my family’s other businesses and I know he will be successful in leading and directing the Blackhawks for many years to come,” said Peter Wirtz. “As Chairman of the Blackhawks, Rocky will have my full and complete cooperation and support during this period of transition. I know Rocky, Dale and Denis are committed to bringing our fans a championship.” This is the FIRST TIME I have EVER heard somebody from the Wirtz family say "winning the Stanley Cup". Maybe things are looking up for us.

franck5890
Yup, congrats to Toews on his first NHL goal (on his fourth NHL shift I believe). The 'Hawks certainly have some great pieces to build their future around.

The 'Hawks certainly have some great pieces to build their future around. I was at the the game. IT was his 4th shift, and his first shot. He was also in the penalty box when the sharks tied the game. Despite out 1-2 record, I really like the way we have been playing this year, especially against some of the better teams in the west.
