Guest CanadianMike
I don't like this team, but I like Rick DiPietro. : / makes for a weird situation.

Guest 1970 Habs
Aaron Johnson is not a big name player but the following story on him shows that there are NHL players who love and appreciate the opportunity to play hockey in the NHL. He is also a Nova Scotia Maritimer. http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?articleid=35353...mp;service=page

Since the game where he hurt himself in the skills comp, he hasnt been the same. And he brought the team down with him.

Johnny_rudeboy
This is very interesting. While the Islanders may not have drafted first overall pick Steven Stamkos, they did manage to draft his two Sarnia Sting linemates. zenderjetta
Ridiculous that Ted Nolan can't hold down a job. It clearly was not his fault the Islanders were awful last year. He even got them into the playoffs the year before. Isles just got worse and along with Florida, Atlanta, and the Leafs they'll probably end up fighting hard for last in the East this year. CanadianMike
They want to finish last in the East to get John Tavares!!!! yeah but even if they finish last it doesn't guarantee them getting him. I feel bad for Streit. I think he just went from #1 in the East to deadlast in the East (or just about). Firing Ted Nolan isn't a very popular decision (or one that makes sense) with Isles fans.
