Guest Alex-Habsfan23
AS much as I want to agree with you guys, you've got to admit, they made some good pickups in the offseason.

Yeah a goaltender who is already being picked on by the Toronto media and another guy who is going to spend 6 months in jail at the end of the season. Guest habs_fan1160
Jason Blake was a good pick up for the Leafs or any team, but it'll take a lot more than one player to win them a cup or be contenders. I expect another embarassing season for Leafs fans, however, not to say that our season will be a whole lot better. It makes me feel better if the Leafs are sucking when we are. Guest Keith
Let's not be ignorant now, if Toskala plays any better than Raycroft, Blake scores, and they keep healthy, they will make the playoffs easily.
tmash
I am really scared of the Leafs. Montreal has trouble beating their style of play (gritty, defensive, low skill) at the best of times, but the Toronto team this year is a significant step up from last year's. Toskala finally gives them a #1 goaltender, Blake could be a huge addition (the guy I wish Montreal had made a stronger push for), and they didn't really lose anyone last season and have a couple average prospects. They don't have our youth, but Toskala and Blake alone makes them a significantly better team.

I mean we can lose to the Columbus Blue Jackets but beat the Sens. If the Leafs are going to up their level of play I think the Habs will too. It might make for a more interesting match up. Guest habs_fan1160
I guess the "amazing Mats" didn't pull through for the Leafs like Captain K did for us.
Guest JL
I guess the "amazing Mats" didn't pull through for the Leafs like Captain K did for us. It's one game. Things can change in a hurry, starting as early as Saturday night. You know what can happen when you spit in the air?
Guest J Haul
It's one game. Things can change in a hurry, starting as early as Saturday night. You know what can happen when you spit in the air? It lands in Sundin's face? Sweet, I've gotta take up spitting! BTW it was awesome to see the leafs in their familiar 3rd period, lead blowing form tonight. Just added a nice little cherry on top of our win over the canes. You know what can happen when you spit in the air? That is true, but it was the season opener for both teams, one of the most memorable games of the season. We get to remember our Captain pulling through. I'm pretty confident about Saturday's game, I think we have what it takes to beat the Leafs. Kindred
Toskala finally gives them a #1 goaltender, which makes you wonder why they started Raycroft last night. I realize in back to back games you would rotate but IMO if Toskala was going to be the #1 then he should have started.

Toskala was asked in an interview about his bad preseason play and he said not to worry he's ready to play.
