Guest kendogg
Were you born elsewhere and moved to Quebec? Everyone who sees my bad french will have to excuse me until I study french again. They are very inexpensive and beside the subway. I've stayed there about 10 times in the last 15 years. http://www.hotelresidencevoyager.com/

Guest chitownhabsfan
I will keep that in mind!! Fortunately, I get to meet players and coaches a here a lot. ONe of the advantages of them currently being a "dead" franchise. There are numerous oppurtunities to meet the players with no problem at all, and they all have been cool to me, sans Eric Daze. Although I am sure it would be cool to them see fans travel to see them. Thanks a lot everyone for your advice. I am looking forward to this trip. If you meet any Hawks players prior to going to Montreal, why not ask one of them for their tickets to the game. Each visiting player is allocated a certain number of tickets to the away game. Of course, in asking, you indicate you are willing to pay for the tickets. I am sure that the players get relatively good seats for the game. If one player turns you donw, ask him if he knows of any player that would have his tickets available? You can always call the Hawks ticket office and ask them if they can get you tickets to the Montréal game at no additional cost , especially if you are a season ticket holder [yuk], the worst they can do is say no. Go to http://canadiens.nhl.com/tickets/seating_pricing.htm The prices are Canadian, however, there isn't much difference in the exchange rate at this time, so consider them to be US$ prices. The name of the hotel which is directly east of the Bell Centre is called the Marriott - Chateau Champlain, where most visiting NHL teams stay since it is so close to the Bell Centre, walking distance, about two blocks at the most. See http://www.montrealmarriottchateauchamplai...rench/index.htm Here are some other web sites that may be of interest. http://www.tourisme-montreal.org/B2C/06/ac...cookie%5Ftest=1 http://www.novotel.com/novotel/fichehotel/...che_hotel.shtml http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g155032-...bec-Hotels.html http://www.expedia.ca/pub/agent.dll?qscr=h...54282&& As to why the Blackhawks suck, it is their tradition. Do you want to continue to be frustrated and support that tradition? By any chance, are you a Cub fan too? What a ***** life; supporting those two losing teams. By the way, there is bus transportation from Pierre Trudeau [YUL, formerly known as Dorval] International airport to downtown Montréal for a price [about $15 -$20 CDN], buy a round trip ticket if you are leaving from the same aiport. From there, one can take a smaller bus to your hotel. No fare, but you should expect to tip the bus driver. Get some Canadian currency through your bank before you go and take your US passport with you. Have fun in Montréal.

Get some Canadian currency through your bank before you go and take your US passport with you. Have fun in Montréal. I actually do know a season ticket holder. His company has had seats since the early 70s, and they give me tickets a 3-5 times a year to games (back in the 80s I was luck to get one game a year, although I did get to see 1 stanley cup finals game, although the hawks got eliminated taht game, but I got to see Lemieux carry the cup, which was very cool), so maybe I can ask them. I also ran into a person tonight who claims she knows the wirtz family (she is a very high profile judge in DuPage county, and she frequents the same bar I do). SHe told me that she will try to get me some tickets for the MTL game. I have been a hawks fan all of my life, and I am NOT going to change alliegence because they have had some poor years recently. I am actually a tigers fan (I have a lot of family in Michigan, and I grew up on the Sparky Anderson Tigers in the early 80s) so I hasve seen some success, although I do root for the Cubs, but I do not live and die with them. I am not a fan of basketball or football so the bulls and the bears don't mean too much to me. Also what is a good price for round trip tickets from chicago to montreal??? The best rates right now are about $550. I hope I don't have to pay THAT much, but if I have to, I have to. thanks a lot for the useful information!! Guest KOIVU#11
In regards to seeing the game well, there really isn't a horrible seat in the Bell Center because of the way its sloped, unlike places like the saddle dome where you have to duck down in the upper seats just to avoid hitting your head off the ceiling. Scalpers charge ridculous prices, last year when I went I sat in the reds but that was a corporate seat, it was still a good time but you won't find the hardcore fans down there. The rivalry between QUE/MTL was fierce. Something happened one time at la collisee then les nordiques fans threw tennis balls onto the ice which I believed cancelled the game vs. MTL. You mentioned that your father lived in Montreal, does he speak francais aussi? Bonne chance en l'ecole

Guest chitownhabsfan
Either in the Sunday Chicago Tribune or Daily Herald in the Travel section, there is a map of N.A. and the lowest airfares to US & Canadian cities. Current fares to Montréal are about $350.00 and should decrease as we enter the winter months, cause the demand for tickets to Montréal will decrease during that time period. So, look for prices between $250 to $350.00 round trip. There are some web sites to look to find airfares... http://farecast.com/ http://www.travelocity.com/ http://www.kayak.com/ The airport code for O'Hare is ORD. The airport code for Pierre Trudeau International Airport in Montréal is YUL, formerly known as Dorval International. http://www.admtl.com/passager/Home.aspx Also, this might help. http://www.tourisme-montreal.org/B2C/00/de...cookie%5Ftest=1 Look for the L'Aerobus station outside the ground floor [same floor as where the baggage claim is] for low cost transportation to the city. As stated before, get a round trip ticket and it is going to be around $15 CDN.

Guest kendogg
Hawks fan: If you need a cheap fare, and are daring, call Greyhound. If you come across any cheap hotels, motels etc.. in Brossard,QC. don't do it. I stayed there when I last went to Montreal. It is too much hastle to ride public transit into Montreal from there. You have to ride a bus from Brossard to terminus Panama, another bus to Longueuil(longay), yellow line underground transit system to Station Central and green line to centre bell. Guest chitownhabsfan
The Chicago Sunday Tribune, in the Travel Section 8, Page 13 has the map for NA and lists the Lowest US and Canadian Airfares to select cities. In the August 26th edition, it list the RT fare to Montreal as $336.00 for three airlines; NW = Northwest AC = Air Canada UA = United Airlines There are a few conditions for that airfare, check the paper, either by buying it or free at your local library. The ground transportation from Trudeau International - YUL to the city is via the following; http://www.autobus.qc.ca/anglais/aeroportuaire_an.html Check it out. Guest ribz&ryder_connexion
Hopefully I'll be at that game with my Blackhawks fan friend and his dad so you won't be the only one. Just be nice to the poeple around you and you won't have a problem. And if you behave and someone still busts your chops, either ignore it or pretend it doesn't bother you it's the best way to deal with the ignorant ones k? Guest habs_fan_67
Hi, I am a Blackhawks fan and I plan on coming to Montreal for the Blackhawks/Canadiens game on January 8. I try to see a couple road games a year, and I finally will be seeing them in Montreal. I have a few questions. How fast do tickets sell out, and how much will tickets cost each (in Chicago they range from $7 - $250 US a ticket) How much of a markup do you get from scalpers? Where do the "real" fans sit? (is the 100 level mostly corporate seating, etc) How friendly are the fans to well behaved fans of the visiting team? Where would be the best hotel to stay at (somwhere near the Bell Centre, but not TOO expensive,) How much does food/beer cost, and is there any "local specialty" I should try? Why do my Blackhawks suck so much? Is there anything else I should know? thanks so much in advance, and see you in January. I know most people already answered this but 1-Really fast you should get en fast they are sold out almost insitly(you already got em) 2-dont know 3-(your near the bottem with all the bussness man) best place is Molson Ex Zone for $22.66 4- we just are mean to toronto fans 5-look at this page http://www.hotels.ca/index.jsp;jsid=orun770h6xrcH89JK7Our 6-beer last year has 7 or 8 bucks I think it went up 7- they just do 8- get a hotel close to the bell ceneter or take a taxi cause it cost alot for parking

Guest old whaler fan..go habs
Hi All, Last year I posted this and got some help. I was able to plan a trip to Boston last year with my group of 18 from Hartford,CT to cheer on our habs. It was great to see a few thousand habs fans there that night. Since it is impossible to get tickets fro the Bell centre and no from the front office answered my e-mails ( we were hoping for a group of tickets to see the habs vs the canes) cheering our habs with our whaler jerseys on. Anyway, I am hoping someone can answer me. Are there any large road trips planned , where a large group of habs fans are planning on going. Perhaps Boston again, NYI , or NYR maybe. If anyone has any info on planned trips or some in the works , PLEASE let me know . would like to plan my trip where the are once again a bunch of hab fans with us. Thank you

Guest clarke19
Hey, I am flying up to Montreal on Friday, Febuary 15th to see a Habs game against the Flyers Saturday the 16th. I went to see a game last year at around the same time also. I was just wondering what I can do during my trip up there, where some cool places are to check out hockey related or not. I know I want to go see the old forum, but I'm not sure what they've made of the palce now. I would like to know some good places to get autographs. Last year I went to the Bell Centre at around 9:30-10:30 on Saturday morning in hopes of getting some autographs outside by the garage. I got two, Carbo and Huet. Was I there at the right time? Right place? Any info you guys can give me would be awesome. I've already done the Bell Centre tour which was really cool. So if you guys know any cool Habs shops, cool restaurants or places to go after the game on Saturday night I'd love to know. Thanks in advance.
