Game Story

Montreal Canadiens:

After coming off of a win, the Habs head to the Bell Centre for their home opener.

Although Price won his first game, sources say that Huet will be getting the start.

On a side note, Josh Gorges will sit this game out. Patrice Brisebois is back in to replace him.

Carolina Hurricanes

After being the first team to beat the Sens this year, the Hurricanes will try to ride their confidence into tomorrow's game.

Cam Ward will be between the pipes for the Canes.

And as always...

GO HABS GO!!!

Nice Post/Topic starter Scott. Lets see how we can do on opening night? Will Chips or Grabs be playing? or both? How will the fans react to montreals road success thus far? Can we steamroll the Canes on opening night? - yes we can!

According to Habsinsideout, the only changes will be in nets, where Huet replaces Price and on defense ; Josh Gorges is out, Patrice Brisebois is back in. That also means that Chipchura will be playing.

Canes are playing great hockey right now, and are probably pretty anxious to ruin our home opener the way we did theirs.

You're right. We'll have to get to Cam Ward early and often. A good start to the game and staying out of the penalty box will be key for us in this game.

I was wondering if the player introduction will start at seven, and the puck drops after that, or if the puck drops at seven with the player into being before. Its my first home opener and I cant wait!!!!

This is a good question. Anyone have an answer? I'd also like to know!

Speaking of the game, I'll be listening online, because I sent Rick Moffit an e-mail for Murray Wilson asking if there is anyone who could emerge as the next Rocket Richard or Guy Lafleur, either on the big team or in the farm club. I also asked what the Habs could or should do to find one either in free agency or otherwise. I am looking to see what options the Habs have.

We all know this team is is need of serious offensive firepower.

Finally the home opener.

I'll only be able to catch the first period live and I've got to tape the rest due to work.

Should be a good one though, the Canes will be out looking for revenge for ruining their home opener, so it should be an interesting game.

It seems like in the past,, everytime Huet is put in nets in a game after the other goalie did well.. he usually shines under that kind of pressure. Hope tomorrow nite is no exception. GO HABS GO!

I don't know about that... last year in October, Aebischer totally outplayed him and when Huet was put in, he wasn't doing very good at all. Here's hoping for a great performance from him and we'll need just that as the Canes are hot!

It will be a tough game, but if we stay diciplined, dont take to many penalties, we can sure win this game.

The Centre Bell atmosphere will be awesome, as always ofcourse, and for our home opener, I hope our guys will give us a good one. Go Habs Go!!!
