I think making such a huge blanket statement like that and accusing someone else of being ignorant is a bit ironic.

The Russians have been flying their Tupolev-95 bombers (NATO codename "Bears") off the coast for years now. The exercise was discontinued for a while after the fall of the Soviet Union but with Russia's revival as a world power under President Vladimir Putin, the Russian military has found enough funding to step up their military activites, and in a nutshell, flex their military muscle to the rest of the world.

It was just this past September the Americans had to scamble fighters off the coast of Alaska to escort Russian strategic bombers away from the coast.

It's standard procedure. It might annoy the Americans but it's just an exercise.

still, i see ww3 because iran and russia have an alliance. we should round em up fast, be done with iraq. we(the US) have bigger threats than that. I suppose i have no room to talk with bush, but the russians are boneheads(except kovalev and ocechkin)
