Guest overlords
I don't think I would go quite that far. I think he has the makings of a Bjorn Salming (the Toronto defenceman of the 70s). He is tied with Bobby Sanguinetti for the most goals by defenceman in the OHL with 18 and has already surpassed his point total last year by 2 pts (43 now) with just over half the season played. He will have better numbers in junior than Letang who played in the QMJHL. Personally I think he is better than Letang and that his 6.5 prospect rating on Hockey Future's website is too low. This guy was tied for the lead in pts (6) by defencemen in the World Juniors this year and has just continued to excel this season. I was excited about Mathieu Carle last year but am more excited by this guy and what he will bring to organization when he finishes junior. He and Mathieu Carle (who is having a strong year in Hamilton for a rookie) are two defensive prospects no one on the Forum hardly talk about. But mark my words if they stay in the organization people will. Agreed. No one is really talking about them, but there really isn't all that much to say either

PK SUBBAN (D) #6 YANNICK WEBER (D) #5 Yes I'm definately going to be watching and taping the game tonight, it will be the first game I will be able to see from Weber, all I know about him really (from sometimes watching the Kitchener news broadcast and sports broadcast) is that he has one heck of an amazing one timer from the point

Guest crazyhorse_9000
Ive always kinda though of him as one of our better D-man prospects. We have SOOO many defensive prospects we could supply the whole league in a couple years if they all pan out.

As Yannick's birthday is in September, he will be 20 next fall. I really hope the Canadiens sign him to a contract before the season next year and that he is plays in Hamilton. He will be 20 but he is actually only 19 in the eyes of the OHL. His birthday is September 23rd. Their cutoff date is Seotember 15th. He may well be in Hamilton but I think he will probably be back with Kitchener and they will have a good team again next year.

I hope he is not back in the OHL next year as it would be a waste of time as I feel he will be ready to move on to the PROs. It is only 8 days but I guess Montreal could always sign him after the 23rd and then play him in Hamilton.

The NHL has an agreement with the CHL to keep players who are not "overage" players(which means 20 yrs old by September 15th) in the CHL. I also disagree that it is a waste of time . Playing under Pete Deboer is always a good thing for players. He is an excellent coach for young players. ! more year under Pete and then some time under Don Lever and he will be NHL ready. I have to agree with 1970 habs, I think it would be a waste of time for Weber to go back to the CHL after this season, because for one thing he is doing great offensively for Kitchener, you can't actually ask for a better offensive season for Weber being a defenseman, and he is getting a ton of minuites 5-5 on the power play and penalty kill......Kitchener has a really good team overall this year and as of right now are by far the best OHL team and should win the OHL championship, and they are hosting the Memorial Cup this year and they are probably favoured to win it too and weather they win the Memorial Cup or not this season, they will probably lose a couple of their better players after this season (like Steve Mason for one) which will make it very diffucult to get back into the Memorial Cup Tourney next year, and also he is no longer eligible to play at the World Juniors...I think if the Canadiens were smart they'd sign this guy after the season is done and get him playing for Hamilton next season

Because he is a Euro born player the rules are different. So I agree he probably be in Hamilton next year.

Guest Greek Hab
Weber would fit on the team next season. List of present D-men in Hamilton: Archer: UFA at season's end Biron: UFA at season's end Coté: UFA at season's end Deagon: RFA at season's end Gleed: Hamilton Contract 07-08 Aubin: RFA 09-10 Carle: RFA 10-11 Valentenko: RFA 10-11 Benoit: UFA 11-12 (Andre plays in Findland now, not sure if he'll come back, but he's a good D-man) It is also possible that PK Subban might make the move upward aswell. Hamilton is(and already has gotten) weaker on D. With Coté being our only veteran. And last season when Jancevski was with us, he played a pretty nice role with O'Byrne. So from my point of view, prepare to see a movement of players from our prospect pool move to Hamilton. This also includes forwards, but not as severe has defence. Goalies also...Cédrick Desjardins and Loïc Lacasse are candidates to back Price up. My guessing is well see alot of our players from Cincinnati shift over from the ECHL to the AHL. P.S. We also have Emelin, if he ever gets his butt over here.

Guest Khadgar
After looking at the roster, again, the youngest guys on the Dogs are 20 years. Is the the elegibility for the AHL? Only if you are a CHL player. 18 years old is the age of eligibilty for the AHL. However The CHL and NHL have an agreement in which CHL players cannot go to the AHL until they are in their overage year. Which is 20 years old. Unless the player in question is a Euro born player such as Tlusty of the Leafs.
Guest devils_fury2
I noticed on the Kitchener news that the OHL held their skills competition tonight and Weber had the hardest shot at 99.2, very good in my opinion, especially for a guy at only 19, can't wait to see the OHL All-Star game tomorrow night on Rogers Sports Net
