Guest jennifer_rocket
My two cents on the road trip: We should be very pleased with the outcome! Sure we blew a two goal lead, but the Pens are no push-over of a hockey club. Playing back to back games with how many hundred miles of travel in between cities? Did we expect them to put together 60 minutes? Listen, last season we were absolutely awful in back to back games. We won! That's all that matters! We found a way to get it done on Pittsburgh's ice, after playing the night before.
Guest JL
... hopefully Rollie will help Price with his "five-hole" issues - this kid is going to be great. Go Habs Go! I've addressed this "issue" in the Price thread.
Guest Habsy1
I think it was great that we won this game in a shootout but blowing a 3-0 lead is unacceptable, in my opinion. The Canadiens were good for the first 20 minutes, horrible the next 20, and then so so the final 20. Definitely not a 60 minute effort as I see it. Guest voicemajor2000
I like the fact that P.J. Stock was on HNIC last night. He made an EXCELLENT commet about the Gonchar hit of Bouillon in the last 10 seconds that gave Gonchar a penalty. I 100% agree with Stock that if you are in the box at the time that the shootout starts, you should NOT be allowed to participate in the shootout. Gonchar could have won them the game after that stupid hit. I remember last year in a Lefas/Habs game where Tucker was in the box when the shootout started, and scored during the shootout, and the leafs won the game. If you are penalized at the time of the shootout, you should NOT be allowed to participate. Aside from that, nice to see Price foil the Pittsburg shooters. Is it just me, or was he fooling all the shooters into shooting wide of the net. I think he shows them the room, and then takes it away with his good size. Guest habs_fan1160
I thought we were lucky to get this win. We played an awesome first period and the first two mins of the second and then we stank it up for the rest of the game. Luck was definatley on our side, we took the second and third period off and still managed two points. Price only actually made three saves in the shootout, the rest missed (not to take away from his talent, because he has it). He wasn't spectacular in the shootout. And we're lucky we have Markov, who's reaction was hillarious by the way.

He wasn't spectacular in the shootout. This is only my opinion, but I think part of the reason all those shooters missed was because he made himself so large in the crease. When the goalie looms that large, you start thinking you absolutely have to pick the corners, and those shots are always higher-risk to miss the net. And we're lucky we have Markov, who's reaction was hillarious by the way. Who says Russians never show emotion when they score?
Guest Rainman
Other notable items…did anyone else notice that blonde behind the Pens bench….that’s two in two nights…we’re blessed people. Could it be the club has cleverly placed distracting beautiful blondes behind our oppoistions' benches ? Next on the TSN conspiracy rumor mill... GO HABS GO !!! p.s. and that's

Even better, get rid of the stupid skills competitions to decide on the games and play 5 minutes of 3 on 3 hockey if the game is still tied after 5 minutes at 4 on 4. That way, when there's a penalty called, it's an automatic penalty shot. In this case, Gonchar would have served the final two seconds of the first OT, and we would have started the period with a penalty shot which would have ended the game had we scored. As as a further note S.C stands for START CRYING . Another great win WOOT Lol, yeah I'm not a big fan of Crosby either. He's drove me nuts since the first game I saw him play, possibly even before then. Doesn't he only have four goals this season so far? I heard on CBC or TSN (can't remember), that giving him the title of Captain too young was a big mistake - AH it was Don Cherry who said it, on CBC. Last year when we played the Pens I was scared when Crosby got the puck, this year not so much.

Lol, yeah Markov's reaction was priceless, I saw it about 10 times in highlight reels, it gets funnier every time. We're just lucky we got these two points, it's not too often you can take two periods off against a team like the Pens and come out with a win. Guest SchlueterMan
I never understood they mentality behind "blowing" a 3 goal. Pittsburg allowed 3 unanswered goals too but noone talks about that.
Guest WindsorHab#10
Too much energy wasted talking about blowing a 3 goal lead. The fact is we came back and won. Last year's team would've folded like a cheap tent. If someone would've told me that the Habs will come back home with 3 points out of 4 or even 2 I would've been very happy and so would all of you. It's time to stop criticizing and start cheering on this team because they're learning as they go. I see a light at the end of the tunnel and we all need to chill out and take it one game at a time. P.S. Do not compare this team to last, because they are WAY different.
Guest Hoyle00cdn
Beggars can't be chooser. We all knew going into the season that this would be another "battle for 8th place" team. Let's not be unrealistic and get upset because our team didn't blow the penguins away 8-2. The biggest goal I'm expecting from my team this year is to see our young talent excel and make names for themselves. So far I've been impressed with the progress of Price, Chipchura, Kostitsyn, and even Plekanec jump to the second line.

Pittsburg allowed 3 unanswered goals too but noone talks about that. That's because they battled back and tied the game. It's a totally different situation. Not that I'm criticizing the Habs, but we really were lucky to be able to hang on for the win. The Pens are young and energetic, plus they have the right mix of vet players, who've made names for themselves at the NHL level. We have the young players, who seem to lack direction (Saku, Kovy, and Markov do a good job at direction, but our rookies look lost out there sometimes). Plus our young players, play young, they skate with their head down, take blowing hits and then seem to loose some steam. All that stuff will be improved with expierence though. The wind was definately taken out of our sails after that hit Kovy laid on Malkin, after that it was a totally different game, one that the Pens absolutly dominated. Guest Habs_Mania
I just got home from the camp, been away hunting since friday afternoon. My dad and I each shot a buck!! Looks like good deer steak eating all winter. It wasn't till Saturday afternoon till I heard about the Crapolina/Habs game on the radio at the camp and was in totaly shock that we scored 7 goals on a goalie like cam ward and only allowed 4 goals against such a potent offence. I heard people complaining that we should've had more even strength goals, we had two for freak's sake! and it's kinda hard to score ES when the other team is in the box so often. Saturday night I got watch the game on the old tv at the camp that gets just 1 channel (cbc). I'm in NS so got to watch the real game instead of the laffs game. I fully expected to lose this game because of playing such a top tier team the night before. After the 3rd goal we scored I was not upset in the least that we let the Pens come back to score 3 unanswered because we had no business winning that game anyway, of course you're going to be groggy after playing 4 and a half hard skating periods. After Markov scored the game winner (after I had a heart attack) I leaped into the air for joy out of a combination of shock and joy. Some people think we should've won the game 3-0 and talking as if Pittsburgh is an easy team to beat. Yeah, the Pens might not be winning as much as you'd think right now but they're still one of the top-talented teams in the league and will be a force to reckon with once this season gets going.
