I really think it's our system or something. Zednik is playing pretty good this season as well.

people jumped on me for not seeing the "positives" after that horrible defensive performance in the first period. Blame the third perod as much as u want...we got licky on all except the first Latendresse goal, the lines had NO chemistry...and now that Carbo has shaken up the team by changing up all 4 lines...why doesn't he shake himself up a bit and not let his team fall asleep with a 4-1 lead. I mean I hardly ever see him talking behind those benches!

how does a team with coaches like carbo, jarvis, muller, and a gm like gainey, who are all defensive specialists, throw away a 3 goal lead.when was the last time huet won a game? and who thinks the leafs will soon pass us?

Nashville game....I cannot believe what i have just seen by the canadiesn performance. I think i hav enow seen everything in the NHL. For the peaople who want to defend the habs tonite, well i'm sorry but ur defending the wrong game. This was an embarassing game. Smolinski penalty was just like yvon pedneault says" Un mauvais Penalité". I'm sorry but you don't come in the third period with a 3-0 lead and then have a 4-1 lead at around 9:00 into the game and go lose 5-4 in shootouts. To me that means that we are watching a team with no heart and spirit to win. Just like Carbonneau says" We always find a way to lose", and he's right, we do, and for people who don't kniow anything about goltending. When a goaltender has 45 shots midway through the third period, you get pretty fed up and tired. There was no way huet could of kept us any longer in this game. You can make fun of him as much as you want, but for those freaking price fans out there last night with a 4-0 lose just proves that he should of stayed in his baby league of AHL, with his 45 miles per hour shots, and his stupid calder trophies, BIG DEAL! I would of brought him up a little later at around 23 years old, he's not ROY! For our defencemens, i think its time they wake up, because i can guarantee that this game won't be the last that we lose like this. I don't understand how we can't dump the puck out in a dangerous situation. This is unbelievable and i'm so fed up of this crap. Also its not Carbonneau's fault, and for people who think he will get fired becuz of a match like this, well ur absolutely, absolutely wrong. Its not the coache's fault when his team has a 4-1 lead and then loses 5-4. Im sure if it was up to him he would go back on the ice and score some goals. Anyways all im trying to prove is that the team has to play for their coach. If the players don't play, don't excpect a victory. The habs gave up to soon which caused an embarassing lose. Last but not least, Guy Lafleur was right that night when he said that the Canadiens played like a fourth line team, well Guy tonite for the last nine minutes, they played exactly the way you said it. Hope they learn't their lesson.

Agreed man.

reading the feedback on tsn is sickening.

I tend to stay away from TSN and RDS feedbacks.

I stopped after the first one, actually. "Leafs will pass the Habs within 10 days...".

Well, I think it's just that. Because we play defensively.

That's my own personal take, but I'd much rather see us continue playing offensively with a 3-goal lead, that sit on it.

not bashing, but ryder needs to be sent down or sent somewhere...like, he had like 4 chances in the slot and missed the net on all of em. Am i blaming the loss on him? heck no, but he is not our ryder we know from before.

Best defence is a good offence...If were constantly on the attack pushing for more, then the pucks not in our end is it?

Cause we don't have defensive players. Gainey goes out and tries to sign offensive players then Carbo tells the team to play defensive.

don't you guys think brisebois is a liability out there everytime he's on the ice...i mean it's time to bring o'bryne ...alot of people have been saying he's nhl ready....also dandenault should be shifted back to defense streit looks better as a forward then defenseman.

cuz Nashville don't take their captain and play him on the third line with a defenseman. cuz Nashville doesn't trade away players like ribeiro because they don't fit into our imaginary system! because Nashville don't treat their #1 gialies like we do....need I go on?

I just don't know what to say. This "system" Montreal is using needs to be smashed to pieces and reconstructed. Just terrible blowing a 3 goal lead in the final 10 minutes. This sitting on a lead is not working, we have blown way too many third period leads and then have lost. (aka Florida as a great example). I mean, Smolinski you are a vetern yet you take an offensive zone tripping penalty that just ooozed with "stupidness".

This was a heart crushing loss and I am sure the players feel demoralized right now. Detroit is next and things are not looking good for us. I am so nervous for Tuesday and have all weekend to think about this loss.

The boys might have taken Nashville lightly. There will be none of that on Tuesday as everyone knows the best team in hockey is in town. Habs will be fired up and desperate and play inspired against the Red Wings. A win or draw will re-establish some much-needed confidence.

For WinnipegJet and Graeme (moderators) ...

I understand your need to keep things civil here, and I agree. But I also think that after this complete debacle tonight and other recent history for this team, you're going to be seeing a lot more frustration until something changes with the Habs. The owner, management, and players on this team need to know, and have an obligation I think to see all of it.

I've been a fan since 1968, so I've seen lots of highs, and yes, some pretty dark lows as well. Today, I drove back from Niagara early to beat the winter storm moving in. One of the first things I did after getting home was turn on RDS. It was the 3rd period, and the game had been on literally for 5 seconds when I got to see Huet mishandle the puck and of course, the goal against. I turned to my wife, a diehard Leafs fan (grrr), and said "watch this - it will not be pretty". Half an hour later, my prediction had come true, the team had blown it, again.

Shortly after it was done, I went around the house, collecting every scrap of CH material I could find - books, flags, banks, videos, pillows, jerseys - you name it. They're all tucked away now, in a giant plastic storage tub. This team has no plan, no heart, no pride. And frankly, I've had it. Sad, so very sad, what this once great organization has become. The product on the ice is what it is, you can't sugar-coat it.

We should just be last years Buffalo, Play offensively and run and gun it

This is what I've been saying all along and it's obvious that's it's Carbo's fault for trying to play defensively with offensively oriented players. Worst part about it, these offensively minded players that we have are fast as hell. Can you imagine if we had a coach like Ruff or Hitchcock and we played offensively with the goalies we have we'd be sitting pretty at number 1 in the east.

i don't think you heard Carbo's comments after da game... that was the first line...and streit played well

riberio never fit here because everyone hated him...how do i know...when you fight with your captain you deserve to be sent somewhere else ...n the whole 3 amigoes thing...

PRICE should be number one because Huet can't stop a peewee player during shootouts
