Guest habskw
its pretty sad that this team has caused a fan since 1968 to do something like that. i know how you feel. And believe me, it's not something I do lightly. I expect teams to have ups and downs, within a year, and from year to year. I don't expect a Habs team these days to go something like 60-8-12 like one of their predecessors. But I do expect teams to be able to hang onto a lead, at least most nights, in the 3rd. I expect them to be able to clear the zone when they appear to have control of the puck. I expect them to not take stupid penalties. I expect them not to repeat a "start strong and then melt down" pattern year after year. I expect them to outshoot teams more nights than not. I could go on, but there's not much point. I'm tattooed (at least figuratively) in bleu blan et rouge, I play goal and when the action's at the other end, have a cross-armed stance much like another Habs goaltender. But there's only so much upset one can take. Bring on Balsillie and the Ontario Predators. Time for a change.
Guest stevesaku
lately the crowd at the bell centre has been losing energy. mike boone says we realized the cup is becoming a distant vision. i think the crowd will be even more dull on tuesday... Guest Alastair[LighT]
Nashville game....I cannot believe what i have just seen by the canadiesn performance. I think i hav enow seen everything in the NHL. For the peaople who want to defend the habs tonite, well i'm sorry but ur defending the wrong game. This was an embarassing game. Smolinski penalty was just like yvon pedneault says" Un mauvais Penalité". I'm sorry but you don't come in the third period with a 3-0 lead and then have a 4-1 lead at around 9:00 into the game and go lose 5-4 in shootouts. To me that means that we are watching a team with no heart and spirit to win. Just like Carbonneau says" We always find a way to lose", and he's right, we do, and for people who don't kniow anything about goltending. When a goaltender has 45 shots midway through the third period, you get pretty fed up and tired. There was no way huet could of kept us any longer in this game. You can make fun of him as much as you want, but for those freaking price fans out there last night with a 4-0 lose just proves that he should of stayed in his baby league of AHL, with his 45 miles per hour shots, and his stupid calder trophies, BIG DEAL! I would of brought him up a little later at around 23 years old, he's not ROY! For our defencemens, i think its time they wake up, because i can guarantee that this game won't be the last that we lose like this. I don't understand how we can't dump the puck out in a dangerous situation. This is unbelievable and i'm so fed up of this crap. Also its not Carbonneau's fault, and for people who think he will get fired becuz of a match like this, well ur absolutely, absolutely wrong. Its not the coache's fault when his team has a 4-1 lead and then loses 5-4. Im sure if it was up to him he would go back on the ice and score some goals. Anyways all im trying to prove is that the team has to play for their coach. If the players don't play, don't excpect a victory. The habs gave up to soon which caused an embarassing lose. Last but not least, Guy Lafleur was right that night when he said that the Canadiens played like a fourth line team, well Guy tonite for the last nine minutes, they played exactly the way you said it. Hope they learn't their lesson. I agree. This was not Huet's fault, it was our team completely giving up, and this seems to always happen to Huet. The team just gives up on the game all of a sudden, and bam we lose. One goal took a weird bounce off the boards, that was horrific luck, could have happened to anyone. The 4th goal when Huet comes out to challenge, I mean, why was the guy that close to the net with enough time to get the puck to his backhand anyway? If someone wasn't able to completely level the guy, at least poke the puck away from him. Not to mention, 40/44 saves? That's pretty darn good. Huet shut them out for 2 periods, and then had some bad luck + the team completely bailing on him in the 3rd period. I am angry at Montreal. Very very angry. This was a terrible defeat. I was only saying he's bad in the shootouts, but he played a very good game overall, like you said 40 saves on 44 shots; if he wasn't there in the first period, we wouldn't even have gotten one point. I blame our loss on that 4 minute power play where we took like one shot..... The team thought it was going to be an easy game and just stopped trying. Guest scarface
i really don't know what to say,i'm speechless after tonight's game. to let a 3 goal lead get away is inexcusable, simply not tolerable. if this game was tight all night long and to lose it in a shutout,i'd accept it. to make it even worse, not 1 but twice BONK scored on us,lol!!.point's a point, but that surely should've been 2. now its off to detroit. i will pray!! Guest WindsorHab#10
Guy Carbonneau told his players this was the low point of their season. Cristobal Huet, bombarded with 44 shots in regulation and OT, then beaten twice in the shootout, said the Canadiens were "fragile between the ears right now." In a somber dressing room where the only sound was tape being pulled off and flung away, Christopher Higgins described the loss as "embarrassing." "We can talk all we want," Higgins said. "We've got to get the job done on the ice. "We have to play with passion and with pride. How are we going to enjoy a day off (on Sunday) after blowing a 3-0 lead in our own building?" Higgins is great because he speaks from the heart and tells it like it is. I hope every player was embarrassed and upset with this loss as Higgins. We'll find out Tuesday. Guest Onzeee
Huet played well for most of the game, but he looked absolutely asleep at the wheel in the shootout. No secret that Huey isnt a 1 on 1 guy I cant remember the last time that this team dominated the opponent. They can do it for a short time and seem to fall apart... Because once we build a lead of 2,3-0 we go into a mode of trying not to loose Montreal has been sitting back for years now. It's a culture in Montreal. Heck I've seen them sit on a 1 goal lead with more than 10 minutes left. In January 06 in Colorado we scored early in the first then Julien sat on that 1-0 lead until about 5 mins left in the 3rd and we lost 2-1. just an example of how this has been goin on since about 13 years OK, I'll grant you that, but fer crissakes why do our goalies have to face 40+ shots all the time ? We were outshot nearly 2-1 !! GO HABS GO !!! usually because we give up 15-20 shots in the 3rd everynight

How about using Price when a game goes to a shootout? I remember Lindy Ruff using Biron for a shootout in a game started by Miller 2 years ago. Buffalo won that game. Guest Onzeee
We should of had 2. Remember, 1 point kept us out of the playoffs last year. 1 point we have blown many points already, if we miss again this year we will have many reference games once again Montreal looked pretty good in the s/o after the game had been tied. Perhaps if they continued to play that way in the third period they wouldn't have ended up in this mess to start with. Actually kovalev and kostitsyns efforts werent great Quite frankly, I'm not the least bit surprised. This collapse only shows the inability of this team. When the Habs rely on AHL calibre players like Streit, Latendresse, Grabovsky, Smolinski, etc.... it only shows you the sad state of affairs of this organization. I believe it's time for Carbo to play Price almost every game. It's time to move Huet. Why the most storied franchise in the history of hockey has to go to France to find a goalie is totally beyond me. His inconsistency is very frustrating and shows that he is at best a capable back up goalie. Let the Price era begin, give him 5 to 10 games in a row and let's see what he really is all about. Can someone answer a question for me..... What has happened to Ryder??? He has completely disappeared. I think that he needs a 2 week stint in Hamilton to remind him of what it takes to play in the NHL. if you watched the game tonight how can you say he has dissapeared? he was everywhere... Well, yesterday we didn't even get 1 point. We got 0 ! But tonight, against a very good hockey team, we managed a point. I guess I'm a half-full kind of guy. I'm very happy with the way the entire team played tonight. GO HABS GO!! Great job tonight!!! great for 40mins i assume your talking about? Guest CanadianMike
I don't know what to say. It was ugly at the bell centre very ugly I'd like to crawl under a rock right about now. Koivu's worse game this season by far..and yes I know his linemates didn't help. Huet is hard to figure out...gets so many shots, makes some great saves only to let some very soft ones later in the game.

Guest Renko
Atleast if they were outworking opponents we could say that a team that works this hard will eventually get rewarded. I just feel that tonight we had the majority of the bounces and we still lost. The team needs to put together a more solid effort, simple as that.
