Guest WindsorHab#10
We've been starving for a win and finally got it tonight against a pretty good team. We could say the Flyers had an off night but the Habs deserve credit for playing one of their best games this season. I say stick with the same lines for Saturday and go get us another win against the Leafs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ar52_l2eSw4 --------------------
Guest keithman
Hey guys, Gainey here again. I told Carbo to keep Sergei on the first line. Might try him with big brother too. Koivu was good tonight. I love it when we win, it means i still have a job. *eats hamburger* see all you pumpkin darlings on saturday. love, Bobby Gainey
Guest chromedome
ya if he is still here on saturday got to get em back in there and get him alot of pp mins because i doubt he will be up on trio 1 With any luck, maybe Gainey can find a taker for Ryder tomorrow and we won't have to witness his lack of effectiveness any more!Did you see the big improvement in energy and crispness in the passing on that 1st. line tonight wth the shackles off ?They just need someone with some speed and talent other than a great shot that sometimes finds it's way into the net!I hope we never have to accept Ryder as our #1 score on the 1st line again! I wish him well ,but it's time for him to move on and ,hopefully, find a little bit of his scoring touch elsewhere (except when he plays us ,of course ). Guest paul_b
Have to say, pretty solid game and nice to see a good win. It is totally, TOTALLY a different team on the road, it is truly amzing how this is happening. Anyway, we have to keep the ball rolling here and come out flying Saturday. Go habs Go!! Guest KOIVU#11
Even though Streit got two goals, he played brutal defense. Don't get me wrong I'm glad we won or whatever but on the pp he was giving ti away and couldnt hold on to the puck. Young Kosty looked good I guess, nothing spectacular but acceptable. Price should start next game, he desreves it and plus Huet is useless against the leafs AND I'm going to be at the game so I want to see price not huet. Guest RockMtl
CAN someone change the locks on the BELL CENTRE - lol!! This team reminds me of my ex-wife, aggrivating!!LOL I will admit - last night I was waiting for the shoe to drop - but - it didn't happen!! Anyway HAB fans - hereis the good news - after TOR and FLO home games our team is off for 6 straight road games - and we know that playing on the road is not exactly a bad thing this year. There is an opportunity for our team to 'right the ship' - who knows??
Guest HabsFan4Lyfe
Can anyone say SATURDAY NIGHT CLASSIC...it's gonna be one to remember ...CHRISTMAS SPECIAL.....MAKEBELIEVES VS HABS SATURDAY NIGHT CAN'T BEAT THAT!!! Everytime I see a comment like that one, it reminds me of the Wizard of Oz and the Wicked Witch yelling "fly my pretties" or The Simpsons and Burns saying "release the hounds". It would be nice if the Habs coaching staff could find a phrase/approach like that one, something that encourages that speed/hustle game, not the turtle version we've seen the last month and more. jigger-1
QUOTE(paul_b @ Dec 14 2007, 12:58 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Have to say, pretty solid game and nice to see a good win. It is totally, TOTALLY a different team on the road, it is truly amzing how this is happening. Anyway, we have to keep the ball rolling here and come out flying Saturday. Go habs Go!! It has to be because of the constant bickering from local media and fans at the Bell Center booing if you ask me. I don't know how else you could explain it. They look nervous when they play here. Nobody wants to make that mistake and get hounded by the boo-birds. In contrast they look very relaxed/poised on the road. Much more determination in their plays. They used their speed, trust more in their abilities and get much more creative in the offensive zone. Last night was awesome to watch. You had a sense that the team was going to win the game right from the get-go. Great jump, energy, good defensive playing, amazing transition game and finishing hits. Not just certain players either. Everyone went out there and played a physical game. Lots of fun to watch. The two Kostistyns really stole the show IMHO. They were nothing short of spectacular. Guest Jason Lorette
Where are the people that were complaining about Streit playing instead of Ryder? I thought so. For all of you guys that want to trade Huet away...we have an all-star goalie and a future all-star goalie...how is that bad? I'd trade Halak...LONG before I'd trade Huet. Guest habs_fan1160
This is a short game thread (24 pages). I guess no one has anything to complain about after a great win. Awesome effort from the team, Price was sharp and the guys you wouldn't expect to step up, did. Hopefully we can carry some of this success into Saturday. Guest 2VP
Yes instead we can watch Huet play for Tampa Bay or the Pens and hoist the cup and shut us out for the next 5-7 years. My god Huet is a good goalie, not a great one! He'll never play a full season, and besides he would be traded to the West. I'd hope to think that Mtl has learned their leason with LeClaire not to trade in the East.
