MN Jeopardy Rules

-If you wish to answer a question just quote the question and the correct answer.

-If you are positive that your answer is right OR if the person who asked the question confirms your answer is right, then you may proceed with the next Jeopardy question.

-Your question must relate in one way or another to the MN # of the day. Example- Today is MN 15

-Do NOT make multiple jeopardy questions at one time because it is hard to follow.

-Have fun :)

Anyone else want to add anything on?

What about that suggestion for a "This Day In Habs History" quote, to start each day?

You mean something like:

On this Day In Habs History

On March 11th 1996, the Montreal Canadiens played their last game at the Montreal Forum, ending 72 years of history at the venue (70 of which, they were tenants of the Forum), beating the Dallas Stars 4-1

Quick guess... Who is Bobby Rousseau? And then there was another Bobby... Smith was his name (I think he wore #15 too... if I'm not mistaken)

On this Day In Habs History - March 13th 1955

During a game at the Boston Garden, Maurice Richard was high-sticked by Hal Laycoe of the Boston Bruins. After play stopped, Richard retaliated and, during the ensuing tussles, gave linesman Cliff Thompson a black eye.

As a result Clarence Campbell, the league president, suspended him (on March 17th) for the rest of the season and for the playoffs.

This led to the Richard Riot.

MN JEOPARDY 13...

When the Habs won their 13th Stanley Cup this player scored 13 points in the playoffs...

This player wore jersey no. 1 ... and this player no. 3 ...

Since nobody had a go at this here are the answers...

Who is Bobby Rousseau (13pts)?

Who is Charlie Hodge (#1)?

Who is J.C. Tremblay (#3)?

MN JEOPARDY 11...

Name at least three Habs that donned the #11 jersey (other than Saku Koivu)...

On this Day In Habs History - March 14th 1927

George Hainsworth became the first recipient of the Vezina Trophy.

His first of three times winning the trophy, named in honour of his predecessor in the Canadiens net, Georges Vezina (who had played in every game in team history until the second period of the first game of the 1925-26 season, when he collapsed in the goalmouth - suffering from the tuberculosis that eventually killed him).

p.s. Hice Jr. is called George. No coincidence.

Is this the jeopardy thread or the On this Day In Habs History thread?

Jeopardy people?

Nevertheless, here's the obvious one:

March 15th 1996 - Sees a parade from the Forum to the Habs' new home, The Molson Centre.

But a gem from way back in history (not quite Habs, but a good one for Habs fans):

March 15th 1934 saw the Ottawa Senators play their last NHL game (which they lost 3-2 to the New York Americans).

Admittedly, the Ottawa Senators re-appeared in 1992 and are now a minor annoyance to us. But hey, they don't have much history on their side. ;)

I told myself I would never step foot here because the last two questions I posed never got any takers. But the #9 is close and dear to my heart.

So here is a unchallengingly easy question.

MN Jeopardy 9

Who are the two players (hint: one from Detroit and the other from Montreal) who wore jersey #9?

... next question.

MN Jeopardy 9:

This player has appeared in the most All-Star games as a Montreal Canadien with 9.

Shot in the dark.

Who is Guy Lafleur?
