Guest rob2h
Ok, then how does your original statement make sense if you're agreeing "Where is the leadership on this team??? Kovalev is a fantastic player (when he wants to be) but if he is your team leader, you are in big trouble!!! " How is this for negative, when the habs finally have a true leader and someone who would be a great captain and an elite player(Kovalev)the fans and media are to blind to see this and never stop critisizing the guy until they run him out of town.No wonder great players don't want to come here.Kovalev is the 1 bright spot on the team this year with a few exceptions and still no one can see it.I would change the above statement to if he is not the leader of the team they are in trouble. Hey the guy is having a great year,I'm glad he is playing with such heart and determination. But you can't tell me that this has been his way all his career. I can see the bright spot (hard not to). I hope he keeps it up and i have no problem laying the "C" on him.
Guest King-Carey-31
Kovalev should get the "C" if he can continue his performance, but does that mean Co-captains or full blown stripping Koivu of it, I personally believe that Koivu would benefit from this, he would work harder to get the "C" back on his shoulder. Koivu really isn't playing as well as he knows and we know he can.

Get a feeling he is going to be moved this year or in the off-season. I have no reason why buti just get the feeling.
Guest QbGamer
Im not a fan of how, We blame everything on 1 player all the time. Yes Ryder sucks, Do we need to blame him each and every game, or can we just get over it, realize he isnt the same player he was in the previous years, and stop blaming him for losing, we shouldnt expect anything out of him anymore. Im not a fan how some people thik that every single goal we let in is a weak goal, and our goaler should be blamed for it. Does no one noticed the Defense isnt what it once used to be with out Hammer in the back end?

jigger-1
Glad to see no one has post any negatives about last night's game. I guess the therapy is working I have one but I think it can be attributed to missing Hamrlik. We coughed up the puck way too many times in our own zone. Two major occasions come to mind. The turnover caused by Komi that almost ended up in a two goal lead were it not for Bouillon's heads up play to knock the puck out from behind Price before a Panther could get to it. (incidentally GHK this is also the turning point in the game imo). That goes in it's game over. Then with 40 seconds left in the game we couldn't for the life of us get the puck out of the zone and yet there wasn't that much pressure coming from the Panthers. Against a powerhouse offense we would have been in trouble last night. Weep mentionned the dip in the +/- category. I agree. We are getting very soft defensively, losing our "toughness" that we had. We aren't finishing hits as much, aren't blocking as many shots etc. Carey Price saved us last night, which is great, but other than that I thought we looked flat, slow, hesitant and inconfident with the puck. Especially in our own zone. There was a lack of conviction in our plays and it showed with softy passes that were picked of constantly. We have to tighten up defensively again. Can't wait for Hamrlik to return.

Don't forget, in this league any team can be a powerhouse on any given night and last night the Panthers played with alot of heart and got solid goaltending from Vokoun. They were also playing the neutral zone trap to perfection and we had a hard time breaking it. A win like last night can do wonders for a struggling team and I'm pretty sure that last night did the trick. We'll see the Habs flying against Philly on Saturday. Guest archey
i don't get to see many games, and i certainly saw the game against boston that ended 6-2 or so, and i remember the announcers saying montreal has to do SOMETHING quick, lol, and i never had a moments doubt in that game, so i'm not complaining about when they are on-but- having a less than positive five against five is horrible. can't rely on the power play for everything. Guest QbGamer
I dont want to sound to negative, I just took a look the standings for the east this year, As i heard Rob Brandmour is our for 6 months for Carolina, seeing that they are ahead of u in 3rd, most likely they will take a huge dip in the standing with out the presence of there captan. This isnot the negative part yet. The negative thing is if you take a look @ the standings, We lost to the leafs, which is the worst team in the east, We lost to Tampa bay, Second worst team in the east, and then we beat the panthers in OT, which is the 3rd worst team in the east

Guest ATLHab
Negative: Living in Atlanta, the only Habs game I have been able to go to this year was against the Thrashers in December. Atlanta won in a shootout, and I didn't even get to see Carey play.

Guest RockMtl
No seriously gang. I'm really not the one to harp on Negatives. You see, the way I see 'LIFE' lol - a Negative is something that is brought out into the forefront - and Worked ON!! No one likes Negative - so in general - work on it - and get RID of the NEGATIVE! Obviously Positive is the complete opposite. Now that my 'Dali Lama' speech is complete - LOL, I have a deep concern about our team being 1 dimensional! We know the Pleks line is touted as one of the best - we need another. BG has to pull the strings at the trade DL to do something!! Do you guys see it as I do?? I think we're only one player away from making a big run. One first line winger that will play with Saku. I'm very content with what the 3rd and 4th line bring to the table. Guest RockMtl
Hey bro!!! Ya, I see it that way to! Gotta kick start that Saku line. Bring 'em back to what we once knew! Then at least we have a couple lines that can do damage and will throw the other teams game plans OFF! I don't see a need to decimate the team. I would be very surprised if BG - doesn't pull the trigger!
