This forum at times is the most negative thing about the Habs.........

I've stopped letting that get me down any more Miltie. I just tell myself to remember its a family thread and like any family,,,,there are children in it. :D

My negative comment has nothing to do with the Habs, but rather the SOB getting away with blind-siding our man Markov, what's the deal refs? When there's blood on the ice and the guy can't get to his skates and all of this occurs AWAY from the play something "outside of the rules" must have happened

Agreed, what the hell is wrong with those refs. A late hit and an elbow and no call.

Gordie Howe was a wonder with getting away with elbow shots.

With the cameras and replays it is not so easy today.

you can't use the cameras and replays for penalties unfortunately. BUT the one thing we can hope for is that when the NHL reviews the play (and they will), they suspend kaleta. If markov had just played the injury up more like most players the refs probably would have changed their mind during the game and called him for it. This and grabovski's penalty were just brutal, i wonder why they don't fine refs.

Here's a negative, the Habs are number 1 and this forum is dead. The Capitals forum has 1000 people on it. What's going on here.

adults may (willingly) receive the occasional spanking as well ;)

The only negative I feel I can justifiably state (and remember) is ...

5 on 5 scoring! Where is it? Throughout the season the fans have forgotten about this bit of information as long as the habs are doing well. But what happens when we play a team which takes no penalties? And what if we meet that team in the playoffs?

I am very proud of the habs but just a little bit worried because of absence in the habs' game.

It was absent tonight and it's normal against a team like NJ that plays the trap the way they do. We've improved tremendously on the 5 on 5 this season and I don't feel it's a concern anymore.

I agree that we have improved and after a quick scan over the habs' recent past it appears the habs aren't doing as badly as I had initially thought (scoring roughly 50% at EV), but facing NJ in the first round of the playoffs in still a very real possibility. They will need to find ways to score at EV if NJ is in any way smart and avoids taking penalties.

Looking at stats on NHL.com it seems we have a total of 209 goals of which 76 were on the PP. Doesnt look too bad to me although granted its not unusual for certain aspects of our game to fall off at different points of the season.

Thing is that NJ also has a problem scoring goals. Given our explosive offensive this year (second in the league in scoring), I'm not worried about NJ in the playoffs as I once was. At any given moment, we can light up any team with 5+ goals, including NJ.

OK, too many positives for the negative thread
