I was just wondering. The first Submarine sandwich I bought was in a Subway's years ago, before the quality went down, but I found that the price was still pretty expensive for a sandwich.

I have never bought another sub until only very recently at a place called Anna's snackbar, some russian food store that sells also sandwiches and poutines(discontinued) on de Maisonneuve street, between St. Marc and Dawson College. It was pretty decent especially for the price. 4.59CAN tax included for either chicken or roastbeef, 12 inch baguette, not much cucumbers and tomatoes, with mayo i believe and some sort of hard cheese (probably mozz or cheddar).

I've heard of Dagwood's and its special sauce and apparently it's pretty good. I've tried also Quiznos Sammies, not subs but they were pretty tasty. A little expensive tho since it really doesnt fill you up.

Lol, tough questions.

Quizno's IMO is the best for taste.

Subway is OK too.

But I think regardless of those two places the price is pretty high, or at least I think $10 is high for a bun with meat on it.

I've always bought Subway's and i'm pleased with them, eventhough it's a little pricy IMO...I'd love to taste Quiznos, but there's none near my place, i have to go downtown...I'll try Quiznos soon though!

The two I eat at are mostly Subway and Quiznos, each has their own advantages:

Subway: good healthier subs (Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki, Chicken and Bacon, etc.), and also good "classic" subs like a Cold Cut Trio

Quiznos: good for the fancier, "deluxe" subs. They have very good ingredients and you don't choose what goes on your sub (well you can ask for differences), but I like that Quizno's has already tried to figure out what combinations taste best, and overall I really like them.

So on pure taste, I'd say Quiznos, although Subway is somewhat healthier depending on what you pick, and have more "classic" subs. Price wise, neither are very cheap, but I'd give it to Subway.

Overall though, I pick Quiznos, just better taste.

Geez...Quiznos is horrible, worst sub ever. There's a white sauce in almost all their subs that just taste so bad.

Subway and Dagwoods are both good, a little edge to Dagwoods tho. Buffalo Bill's has got pretty good hot subs for the price.

The best hot subs has to be at Mikes.

When I lived in Montreal I use to drive up to 30 min to get to Manzo's in Ville LaSalle. They have the best sub I have ever tasted and I have tried many in N.Y.C. I hope it still exists because I am going to Montreal April 28. The sub boasts more than 2lbs and if your going to try one, try the staek with peperoni and italian sausage and if you like mayo... add lots to it........mmmmmmmmmmmmm BTW they make the bread homemade and its like a pizza bread.

Subway's most definitely. I used to work there (Downtown Eaton Centre in Montreal) and I still love it. BMT amd Rosbeef subs are my faves. :)
