I cannot fall asleep... im scared if i do, ima wake up and think this is all part of a dream lol...wow first in the East...numero uno, number 1.... I believe... and my screaming it around the house when i got back from the game, my facebook status, msn name, my laptop background (screenshot of standings) and me sleeping in my habs jersey if i can sleep serve as a reminder to all that the original prediction for this season should have been "the will probably finish 1-3 (i.e: between first and third) instead of 13.... those more optimistic predictions of 12th simply meant 1-2 (obviously much brighter as they realized it will always be division leader of south east in third). All i can say is third time is a charm....had tickets to toronto game feb 7th when they could have done it but lost....had tickets to the great new york rangers comeback and had to trade them away (dont kill me please lol) but i believe ottawa won that night as well so habs couldnt do it there....and third time tonight....also 3rd game in 8 days for me lol so third time a charm there ahaha...wow i need some sleep...go habs!

your sig is GREAT!! I saved it :P hope yu don't mind.

I'm disappointed at the lack of a call on a play against Kovalev once and Komisarek once, he was sporting a nasty lip for the rest of the game. Someone mentioned Smolinski getting high sticked as well. I didn't notice that one myself.

We might have to suffer through some more of those non-calls because I'm getting the sense of a general reluctance to give us a power play. The refs are as aware of our efficiency as the other teams are and they are more hesitant to make a call when it is likely to result in a goal. I'm of the opinion that a penalty is a penalty and the blame lies with the penalized team, but some refs may feel responsible for the result. They are only human. I'm just speculating, it could just be bad luck, but I see these non-calls almost every game and that concerns me.

The replay showed that Komisarek smacked himelf with his own stick when checked hard. So the non call was correct, for once. I do agree that the opponents get away with too many highsticks and/or slashings on our guys though.

And yes, continue with your well thought / well written posts. They're a delight to read :)

I was out last night and missed the game. I don't want to read through all the threads. Would someone be a dear and give me 1/ the score 2/ who scored 3/ how did Carey and the team play? Thank you:

1.2-1 we won.

2. Streit opened up the scoring and was assisted by Koivu and Kovalev. Next goal Gionta from the devils scored. And Andrei "Eastern Promises" Kostitsyn Scored the game winner on a power play assisted by the turtleneck and higgins

3. He played solid, he was cooler than the other side of a pillow. He saved 32 shots

dude you gotta stop writing so much...no offense....really insightful but a pain on the lenght of it .

Rather than letting the rest of know your personal thoughts on someone else's passion for Habs hockey and for communicating it, I might suggest you can take advantage of the "ignore user" feature. It is under your Control Panel - Options :

Manage your ignored users

This section allows you to set up your ignored users list.

When you add a user to your ignore list, any posts they make will be masked until you specify that you wish to read them. You may not be able to ignore users if they are in a member group which doesn't allow them to be added.

I assume it works; I've never used it.

I stand corrected. I was watching a CBC feed on Center Ice and didn't catch a replay, which doesn't surprise me on Center Ice, but the feed was CBC, and they usually check that stuff out.

I'd like to see coaches given the ability to have the ref review a play if a player is injured on the play. If the ref sees a penalty in the review, he gets to call it, otherwise it's a delay of game penalty. There are too many uncalled high sticks and every now and then there's a slash or an elbow that goes unnoticed. It isn't just against us, but it does seem we are a little unlucky in that area. Definitely agree there are too many though. If I were on the ice I'd be odd looking being the only one with a full face shield and no doubt Don Cherry would have a field day with me. :P

Thanks for the comments on my posts everyone. I won't be discouraged and it's flattering that people actually enjoy reading them. Unless I can find a way to watch (and stay awake) I might miss the SJ game though, so I'll have to try to listen to it. I can't remember the last time I missed seeing a game. I'll be checking in so let me know what's going on!

(I don't watch TV aside from hockey, so I have never bothered with cable. I go out to watch the games with friends.)

Lmao  Eastern Promises. Gotta love that. Thank you very much for the recap. I wish though that players (like Brodeur last night) would stop saying that the Habs are hot right now. We know that they're hot but let's give credit to their work ethic. If that's the case (being hot), well, they've been hot a loooong time now. The players are buying into what the coaching staff is saying. We are not a streaky team like in the past - win 1, lose 3, win 2, lose 3, etc. And that is where this stereotype (being hot right now) shouldn't have any weight.

FYI, I usually make it a point to update the title of the game thread with the final score as soon as I can. :)

Steady as she goes, on course,

and always with you be the Force;

hoist your sails and run amok,

and put your signature on each puck.

Run the gauntlet, every game,

and don't forget your franchise fame!

most successful yet, by far,

but you, again, must cross the bar!

So, for the Cup, go, game by game,

be always in your winning frame,

make your first, as good as, last,

and leave the losses in the past.

There is no team you cannot beat,

as long as you turn up the heat,

and watch your back, while you're on track,

to give that Cup, another crack!

GOOOOOOOOOOOO HABS GOOOOOOOOOOO!

Hopefully SAKU will have that extra jump monday night when he faces his old buddy. He has 9 pts in his last 9 but usually at thie time of the year he really explodes even more offensively. Have yet to see that and hopefully that happens on this road trip

I know right? Honestly, I don't expect him to score alot of points. All I want to see from him as leader of this team is effort and energy. If he is putting up points, he is doing a good job as a member of the team, sorry if I don't give him enough credit for that. (I'd still be critical of his penalties.) That doesn't account for the "C" on his jersey though. He has a responsibility as captain to perform at a higher level and encourage his teammates to do the same. Passion is more important than production from a captain in my opinion. Lapierre is an example of an inspired player right now. S. Kostitsyn to a little lesser degree.

Thanks for the comments on my post everybody. I do realize I write alot and it is nice to know people actually read and even enjoy it. Thank you for the support! :D Again, I'm sorry if my posts are rather lengthy, scarily enough, I try to keep them brief. I understand if people have a problem with them. I don't want to be a windbag or annoy people. I'll see if I can shorten them further and again, sorry for the scrolling to everyone that isn't interested. I'm just passionate about the team and I watch them very closely and I enjoy talking about them.

thats what being born bleu blanc et rouge is all about man, watching 82 games very closely and being passionate.... dont worry about it
